Taqueria Centro — Restaurant in Paradise Valley

Tacqueria Centro turned out to be a bit of a mixed experience. The service was great — kind, patient, and helpful throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t quite live up to the friendliness of the staff.

We ordered the nachos with three sauces (Three Amigos), shrimp tacos, steak tacos, a burger, and flautas. The shrimp tacos were burnt, the burger was a basic classic, and the flautas were just okay. Overall, the food leaned bland, and it seemed like the oil hadn’t been changed in a while, which affected the freshness and flavor. It also wasn’t the most affordable for the quality.

The real highlight was the dessert — the churros and strawberries with Abuelito chocolate were warm, sweet, and comforting, and ended the meal on a high note.

Reception told this was a good casual dining place and great spot to watch sports. Went in to watch a soccer game and none of their TVs had it on. Asked the waiter for it to which she said "ask the bartender". Asked a person behind the counter to which they told me "we will definitely get this for you". Ordered a beer and waited about 10 min, than went to ask the actual bartende who just snapped at me and said "yeah, we got you, but I have to do this first. We got you". My wife and I stayed at Omni for a few days and made this spot a place we visited often. Great staff, amazing food and delicious drinks. Definitely make this a stop if you are visiting Omni!

On our final night, my wife and I got the Filet and the Salmon dish. We were blown away at the quality of the food. The steak was perfectly cooked and the salmon was exactly what you’d expect in a great salmon dish.
