Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Paragould

Went here to order our usual meal we have gotten at other locations for years. Classic meal with sweet tea, and a cayenne ranch sandwich meal with grilled chicken, no pickles, and sweet tea. Ordering went fine, but the rest of the trip was ridiculous. A woman came out to speak to me before I got to the window and said they "can't" replace the chicken on the sandwiches to be grilled. I told her grilled tenders were fine (because I know they don't have grilled breasts for sandwiches) and she still said they can't. I explained this is what I always get at other stores, particularly the Jonesboro store. Then she said they "won't" do it because they are an "abide by policy" store and "that's why they have a better rating than Jonesboro." Then she said the best they can do would be to make the sandwich as usual and add grilled tenders on the side and I could assemble it myself the way I want. I pulled up to the window to get the food, and they handed me the two sweet teas. I took a drink of one and immediately cough because it is so sour. I ask to change them out for something else and the kid looks at me terrified and just says "uhhhhhh". I said "is that a no?" And he said "um.. what do you want instead?" And I said Coke Zero. He hands me one Coke Zero and I got the food. Later upon opening the grilled tenders box, I saw they only gave me a single grilled tender for my sandwich. Hate to break it to you Slims Paragould, the only reason you currently have a higher rating is because you're new. Keep up this service and bad attitudes and you'll be out...

Very disappointed with our experience today. We were so happy to finally try Slim Chickens. We have never been to one before and I have heard good things about this new location in Paragould Arkansas. We decided to use the drive thru as we have a full day planned, that is where we found out that you can not take a dully through the small lane you have going to your drive thru order area with out running over your curb. Kind of sad this area was made so small when the rest of your drive thru is wide open spaces.

On to the food that we ordered:

Two chicken sandwich meals (one was a chicken club and the other was a ranch something) fries with one of the meals and coleslaw with the other. The chicken patties on both of these sandwiches looked like slider size. The chicken patties barley cover 2/3 of the bun. The club sandwich only had once slice of bacon, but the taste was alright. The ranch sandwich did not seem to be fully cooked. (When you would take a bite of the sandwich it would be very chewy and stringy. When I tried it I had to spit it out) the coleslaw was okay. Went through drive thru on 03/23 around 8:30p.m. the line was so backed up, I was the ninth vehicle in line. As this was mine and my husbands first time trying Slim Chickens I wanted to see what the hype was about so I stuck out the long wait time. We ordered the grilled chicken salad and chicken tenders meal. 30 minutes- 1hr after eating we immediately started experiencing food poisoning and now on 03/25/2024 we are still having symptoms. Called the location in Paragould AR morning of 03/24 and spoke with Aaron to report the issue. Not expecting to receive a refund or anything as we will not ever be eating here again but I was told the issue would be investigated. I’m not sure if the food poisoning was a result from cleaning, cooking, cross contamination or improper chilling of the food but I do hope to make everyone aware of our experience so you do not have the unfortunate experience we had. Zaxby’s is definitely our go to place for chicken, their service is fast and friendly, the food is always fresh and plus the taste is so much better...
