I got there at about 9am on a Wednesday and they were surprisingly busy. There’s a high school right across the street, so the atmosphere in the weekday mornings might not be the best because there’s so many high schoolers there. There’s also a Starbucks nearby and I was bothered by how many kids had Starbucks drinks and were hogging tables.
That being said everything cleared up at about 10-10:30ish and even with all the high schoolers there I managed to snag a table to work at. The drinks and food are amazing - no surprise there, my fave is always the tres leches muffin. I tried their strawberry matcha this time and holy moly I’m OBSESSED. I’m pretty picky when it comes to my matcha and the taste but theirs is amazing.
I usually order an horchata frappuccino but the coco loco was drawing my attention so I asked the sweet cashier for her opinion and after going back and forth mentally I finally decided to stick with my horchata frap. To my surprise when my name was called she handed me BOTH!! The horchata frap and the coco loco frap and she said “I know you ordered the horchata but I wanted you to be able to try the coco loco so take it on the house” LIKE MISS GURL?! That was the sweetest gesture and truly made my day. It’s the whole reason why I’m writing this review to be completely honest. I’m not sure what others are experiencing but I haven’t had this level of AMAZING customer service in a long time. I’m so sad I didn’t get her name but just know you made my day!!!
In summary: The WiFi speed is amazing. The seating that is available is great. The drinks and food quality are just as expected from other locations. And the customer service left me floored and smiling from ear to ear.
The only way to make this location better would be by not allowing outside food or drinks! Too many Starbucks kids migrating to Tierra Mia bc it has ample space...
Read moreI waited 30min in the drive-thru line for one matcha latte. There were only 3 cars in line so I thought it would be a pretty fast thing. Nope. And it tasted like just milk no matcha flavor anywhere, i should’ve returned it as soon as I saw how light the drink was. But i was running late after having spent 30min there already.
If you want matcha go to honey green cafe which is about 6min further. The prices are about the same but a world of a difference.
If you want coffee just go to the Starbucks that is on the same corner which has been there for longer and though the line seems longer they will get through the line in half the time. There’s also a few mom and pop places in that same area where you can also get a coffee.
From what I could see there were more than 6 baristas and not really any customers inside so why it took so long who knows. Also one person was outside taking orders in the rain why was there no protection provided to them they were getting soaked and why do you have a speaker to take orders if you’re just going to put someone out there. Seems like rainy days are the perfect time to use those systems. The manager is probably to blame as they decide schedules, who goes where, and should be effectively managing the flow of the store maybe it’s time they get retrained on how to run a store. Or they should get a different opener.
I get why this place only has 2.8 stars. With so much “artisan” coffee everywhere find somewhere else to spend your $ especially in...
Read moreTo preface, I’ve been coming to all Tierra Mias and have been happy to support with each new location. Just so that you don’t have to read too long, I’ll make it simple: SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND GO TO ANY OTHER TIERRA MIA!! DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE!
Now I’ll explain why I said that. Tierra Mia is already known for taking some time for their coffees or frappes, but this location is without a doubt the worst location. For a simple horchata frappe and muffin, it took about 30 minutes from ordering to receiving my order with only 2 cars in line!! That’s absolutely ridiculous and a complete lack of effort and time.
Service is without a doubt the WORST from any coffee shop I’ve ever been to, and the other reviews agree. The barista taking my order did not even acknowledge I was there, no “hello” or anything. I had to initiate that conversation when I noticed she was just blankly looking at me out of nowhere. Once I finished ordering, she didn’t tell me to move forward or confirm my order or anything. Paying for and picking up my order was even worse as the cashier and barista were all giving rude looks with no words in between. Just overall a horrible experience with an extended wait time.
Management seems to not care at all, so this location definitely does not deserve your hard-earned dollars. Go to a different location, end up happier with less of a wait and a smile on top. DO NOT throw away your money at...
