I'm trying to make myself go I am what you call of probably an early Bloomer senior citizen I'm 57 years old and I grew up in the park and I grew up in Paramount when I was a child my mom used to take me there and I used to play in that Park and I used to go for the rectory in the park and now they made it for senior citizens and I would really love to participate but sometimes the hours are hard and I've got so many doctors appointments it I don't know if I can go from the beginning to the end so it's hard but I really want to go because it looks like it's a lot of fun and I can make some new friends cuz it's hard for me to make friends and I really want to go so I hope to make it to at least couple of the classes and it looks like a lot of like there's a lot of nice people to meet so I'm hoping to make it there one day for a class instead of just going to get information so I hope somebody else can make it for me have a wonderful time there because I know I will soon as I can get my stuff there and the food smells wonderful there every time I go there either finishing eating or starting to eat...
Read moreWe were recommended to visit the set at Agoura by someone from the Visitor Center at Calabas (Santa Monica Mountains district), situated some 20 mins (or so) from the location. It's a treat, but especially if you love the old wild westerns. No doubt John Wayne and Clint Eastwood regularly rode into town looking for trouble! GOOD: A well designed, laid out ghost town used primarily for filming. While you can't go into every building, the shops and homes are impressive and extremely authentic. When we went, there was literally no other tourists so getting shots of the family together was a challenge. Thank goodness for the iPhone timer options. Recommend going to the jail and if you like, go behind the bars. No doubt some of you deserve your sentences! There's plenty of parking - allow for 45 to 60 minutes.BAD: Rest easy, no one will hang in Paramount's ranch but you may starve! There is a little visitor hut near by but if you're looking for proper snacks/food, there isn't much there. No tour guide but you can do this on your own.RECOMMENDATIONS: Bring water with you...
Read moreI work for Human Services Association which is located in the park.We have a lunch program for seniors, which is located in Paramount Park. We serve lunch Monday through Friday This location is one of our largest that we have. On Thursdays we host a dance prior to serving lunch. Today, at the site there were 170 seniors dancing and having a blast. I am a backup manager for HSA and I found the staff and volunteers at this location to be outstanding. It is a beautiful thing to see the seniors dressed up and dancing their hearts out. Please come and join us lunch is a suggested donation of $2.25 for seniors and it costs $6.00 (not a donation) for non seniors. This particular site has a kitchen and the food is prepared on site. This is a great way to keep our seniors happy and socializing. If you are new to the senior lunch program you must fill out an intake form before you can be a part of this lovely...
