Ted's North Delicatessen — Restaurant in Paramus

I’ve been ordering from here for over 2 years through grub hub and in person. I placed an order today through grub hub. After 1.5 hours I called to check on my order. They use their own driver so the order is not trackable through Grubhub. I left my information. I got a call back from a woman who very rudely told me Grubhub never sent a driver and their driver could not deliver the order. I told her that her driver delivers it all the time. She said very unapologetic he had already left. I could either cancel my order or come pick it up. I contacted grub hub, they told me since they use their own driver they could not send a driver to pick it up for me. I called the deli back asked to speak to the owner who said they don’t deliver to my address. They’ve been delivering here for 2 years! Then he said they’ve asked grub hub to remove them. I told him, I understand your side. However, you could’ve called when my order came in and told me it couldn’t be delivered. Having me wait 1.5 hours is not ok. If they truly cared about customer satisfaction they could’ve had my order delivered and let me know this was the last time. I didn’t even get an apology. The two days a week that I work in that area and get food there in person will now also come to an end. I was spending at least $50 a week there....

Ted's North is the best deli in Paramus. Specifically the Ted's North location, and not the location on Farview Avenue in Rochelle Park; the two are very different. Ted's sandwiches are made with generous and well-balanced portions of ingredients -- they don't skimp, and I've never eaten something that I didn't think was fresh. The Gobbler, American Chicken, Godfather, Goomba, are all inventive, interesting, and classic arrangements that are among my favorite sandwiches anywhere and ever. I'm not someone who likes to eat the same food frequently, but I haven't gotten tired of their fare. The customer service is exemplary, and sets the standard for what I'd like in a town deli. Their location has genuine character, the staff always look like they're enjoying themselves and that they're happy to be there. They are friendly, frank, and funny.
