I would like to give this place more stars but I can't if I'm being honest. The positives are that the staff are very friendly, the wait time for the outdoor covered patio was very minimal, and the cheese curds are some of the best I've eaten. Unfortunately, not all the food is something to boast about. My wife got the seafood sampler. We asked to upgrade the fried fish to blackened grouper. When it came to the table, the fish was overcooked and looked like scraps, not a whole fillet. The blackened seasoning is almost too mild to call it blackened. I chose a blackened grouper sandwich, and mine as well came with what looked like scraps of fish. The shrimp on the sampler was the star. The fried oysters could have been fantastic except for being soggy on one side as they were sitting in a puddle of grease on the plate. No alcohol options feels like a missed opportunity since liquor sales are very profitable but I wouldn't care if the seafood was more uniformly well prepared. Lastly, and this is a pet peeve with both of us, the reason French fries are probably the most popular side in America is because they are easy and quick to make but serve them fresh, hot, crispy on the outside, and seasoned....or don't serve them cold fries suck. Cold unseasoned fries suck worse. We didn't have steak but it was popular and looked good.

We decided to try this restaurant after hearing great things from locals. Just a heads-up: it’s freezing inside, so be sure to wear a coat and closed-toe shoes—it can be tough to enjoy your meal in such a cold environment. This family-friendly spot is perfect for groups, but keep in mind that they don’t serve alcohol or wine. The ribeye was tasty, but the side options were a bit disappointing. I didn’t expect to find canned green beans on the menu! The loaded baked potato came with cheese, butter packets, and Daisy sour cream packets, which felt a bit lackluster. We started with onion rings, which were good but could use a little extra flair—maybe a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, and a touch of fresh Parmesan would elevate them. On a positive note, our server was absolutely delightful!

The good: The staff at this place are amazing. The food came out fairly quickly. The bad: The food is just ok. Definitely not 4.5 stars good. Mac n cheese was dry and not good. All salad dressings are bottled (weren’t good), and everything just tastes a little basic. The table we sat at was under a dripping AC vent. Server was fully aware and apologized but that was the extent. She added that “they can be a pain”. If you have leaky vents that drip on customers throughout their meal, shouldn’t you move the tables or at least not seat folks there? The same thing happened to the table next to us too. I hate to leave a bad review but felt we needed to be honest. We hoped to love this place but none of us were impressed with the food.

When I go out to eat at a place for the first time, I have certain expectations. We all do. While those expectations are based on previous experiences, it is important to remember that different people with different visions created those establishments. But those different experiences show us what we want and don’t want. That said, when I experience a venue, I try to be as objective and fair in my assessment as possible. If I draw the short straw and get the inattentive server having a bad night, I try not to hold that against the whole organization. I will most likely try the establishment a second time. However, when I encounter clear restaurant policy decisions that do not match my tastes, I can firmly say that the likelihood of my return is next to nothing.

This establishment has some things going for it. First, the smell is amazing as soon as you walk in the door. It is situated by water, so it has a beautiful view. That is providing you sit in the right place to see it. Our steaks were tender and had a good. My husband’s shrimp were hearty (his word). The salad did indeed make it to our table before our entrée.

A couple of things led to a mediocre experience but could have been different upon a different visit. The server had tables too far apart to pay attention to our table (which was beside the kitchen). My husband’s and my baked potatoes had sat for a long time before their arrival to us. The cheese in our potatoes had congealed into an unattractive glob. And finally, both of our steaks were overcooked.

The following is a list of things that will keep me from returning because it would not be different.

  1. We ordered a loaded baked potato each. Both came to us with a couple of prepackaged individual butter pods and a frozen squeeze tube of sour cream. C’mon is this a steak joint or Wendy’s?
  2. The potatoes still had the foil wrapped around them. This is something that some people are ok with, not me.
  3. The side salad that comes before the entrée is about the size of a dinner roll. Very small.
  4. Speaking of dinner roll, there is not an option for bread or crackers or anything that comes with just sitting at the table. Not a requirement, but it is a nice distraction when the server is not on their game.
  5. They do not serve alcohol. This would not be a complete deal breaker if everything else were not in play. Although, I do like a glass of wine with my steak. And my husband does like a cold beer with his.
  6. Finally, our two steak dinners and our son’s chicken tender plate came out to around $65 before tip. Seriously? But they saved all that money on condensing salads and not giving us bread. Obviously, many people love this place. It was bustling for a Thursday night. Perhaps, there is gold in them there hills, but I did not see the...

The restaurant is beautiful, the view is amazing and my server was fantastic. Beyond that it was awful. Wait, I take that back the crab legs were actually pretty good.

There was no wait and we were seated immediately at a nice window seat. Another couple came in and sat beside us but did not have a window view. After that another couple came in and requested a window view and as the server walked them over to the window, the server beside me at the table with no window got those people up walk towards the same window table and told the other server that her people wanted to move there. That was so unprofessional. The other couple that had requested the window seat had their hands on their chairs ready to sit down and they were pushed to the side like trash and moved to the non window seat so the one server could put her table there. Completely unacceptable.

As for the food. Very pricey for what you get My dad's 12 oz ribeye was right around $30 you can go to Texas Roadhouse and get a better ribeye for $16 and the same size.

My husband and I shared the largest seafood platter it comes in at like $36. It has oysters, shrimp, scallops, fish, crab cake and crab legs.

The shrimp and the bay scallops were complete rubber. I mean they popped between your teeth they were so overcooked. We ordered them blackened and there was no flavor whatsoever. The piece of fish literally just tastes like air there was no seasoning whatsoever. No blackening taste. The crab cake tastes just like celery. It's obvious that it's frozen because it's in the pre-made shell. Instead of oysters we did get extra shrimp. But as I said before the crab legs were cooked to perfection and they were very good and it seemed like a large portion for 1 lb. It was three whole claws.

Based on the food and the price I will never be back. I may come back to try their barbecue at lunch only because the restaurant smells delicious like a great smoke smell from a smoker. So maybe the barbecue is good I can't comment on that yet.

I did bring up to the server that my scallops and my shrimp were complete rubber and disgusting and even though she was so precious and I adored her she did not offer to compensate us for that and I felt that was kind of wrong. Since it couldn't be eaten. Also the baked potato was hard as a stone. Like it wasn't cooked thoroughly.

All in all it was a big fail for me and it sucks because in this area there's really no good sit-down restaurant. I had high expectations my parents came down to visit and I wanted them to enjoy their dinner but they just did it and neither did we. I'm not saying this the worst place I've ever ate I'm just saying I'm not...

I guess I should start at the beginning, my family decided to go to rodeo's for my father's birthday. We walked in me my wife my mother and father and my wife has a small dog she takes everywhere and it's certified service dog and the little things doesn't even weigh 5 pounds but very well mannered dog. We walk in and the hostess made a face at us like we all stunk or something and said we can't come in with dog, I said that fine we will order and eat outside and we have certificates saying the dog is service dog, so she leads us to an outside table, I went to the restroom while everyone was being seated. I walk up to the table and there is a man there I guess saying we can be there, I mean we're outside come on, but anyway I'm not going to argue so we all get up and leaving and as we are walking out by the hostess and she laughed and give me a smile like I won you know one of those sarcastic kind of laughs and smile. I told her I will write a review about this and so I am. I've never been in a restaurant where I felt so unwanted and the rudeness of that hostess is unexceptionable. So my opinion is even if you have a dog even if you are not trying to bring it there don't go on principal. They will never get my business ever again and if anyone ask me about the place I will tell them go to another restaurant Panama City is full of them and the staff is friendly not like Rodeo's where seems mediocre food according to the reviews I've been reading. I don't like to write bad reviews but I'm just being honest about my...
