IHOP — Restaurant in Parkersburg

We stopped at the Mineral Wells IHOP after church for breakfast. We were seated immediately. Our drinks were brought quickly, and our order was taken promptly. We appreciated the 55+ menu as the amount of food and the price provided a great value and just the right serving size for us. Our food was served in a very reasonable time, and it was served at an appropriate temperature. We were able to enjoy our visit with our friends even though the restaurant was busy. The noise level was quiet even with others seated around us. The atmosphere was good. Servers and patrons all seemed happy and pleasant.

The only negative we have to note was our checkout. We did not realize our server was our cashier if we were using cash. We found this out at the front desk when we went to pay with cash. The person at the desk had to get the server so we could give her our cash. It took some time so we ended up paying with our card. It worked out, but it was unnecessary. Either have cash at the front desk or have the server handle all receipts. We left a cash tip and could have taken care of our bill at the table had we known. I honestly would NOT even leave a one star if that was an option!!! Literally just had the WORST experience at this location! We travel by here weekly and always choose to stop in til today, we will not be back. We ordered our food ( same thing we order every week ) steak tips and eggs. During ordering I said I wanted “Medium Well, plain” meaning no onions or mushrooms. They bring out our food && it has onions in it. We send it back because my husband is allergic to onions. I proceed to go to the rest room while I wait && when I come back out our waitress stops me to literally start arguing with me and trying to tell me what I said and what I did not say while I look over and the manager is arguing with my husband about what we ordered. They offered to fix it a third time but after the argument, eye rolling && sighing it was time to leave. This place just opened this year && it’s already went downhill BIG TIME!! We were invited for the grand opening && loved it til now! When you work with the public, it’s not your job or place to argue with who’s helping...

Food was ok I asked for no mushrooms in my omelette and got mushrooms, husband asked for steak medium and came well, we didnt send it back bc it is what it is but the most annoying thing is I called before we went and asked if they are participating in the free kids meals with an adult entree they told me yes so we went. Then after we were there and ate and got the receipt they said no we dont do that. I told them I called and a lady asked the manager and he said yes and the guy said well idk who you spoke with but we dont offer that. It really was the only reason we went if I had known we would have went somewhere else. Ended up paying $60 for mediocre food that was cooked wrong.
