To the Point - The service is always great and the atmosphere is nice. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, a date night, or family dinner/lunch, I would recommend it. This place has yet to fail me, and I love the food. The price is worth it, and hunan is the way to go (if you like a little spice).
Detailed Post- My husband showed me this place as he has lived in Deer Park, and this place is fantastic. I have been five times now and have never been let down. I recommend anything with hunan, and he loves the peppered steak. The hunan sauce here has a kick, and he states the peppered steak has a great flavor (it is pretty good). I have had many appetizers from here, and all have been good, but the main dishes are where it is at. We come here for dinner mostly. They are quick to greet you when you walk in, and each time I have visited, we have had service in less than five minutes. The servers are very attentive and ensure we always have our drink filled. They even have servers helping from other sections come to your table to help fill drinks, which is nice. We usually spend about $50 total for dinner, which includes an appetizer for both, a main dish, a side of hunan sauce to go (I put this on meat and vegetables), a nonalcoholic drink and the tip. They do serve wine (that I can remember) and sake. They have spicy chicken noodle soup, which I highly enjoy, especially when I am sick or it is cold outside. The fried rice is great, and it isn't greasy. Lunch was about $25, and it comes with a good portion. My husband visits here quite frequently for lunch and stated that you might want to ask for your check sooner as he has had to wait multiple times for the check. I have not experienced this myself; however, I only have had lunch once from here. I recommend bringing groups of people and families here. I will keep coming here and enjoy dinner dates, and...
Read moreNOODLE SOUP GETS ZERO STARS!! Everything else was great so I won't reduce the rating. I ordered online with delivery. The ordering process was extremely easy and fast. They let you pay and tip with a card, which is nice. It gives you an option to make an account for faster ordering later. Delivery was quick and the man was very nice and friendly. I ordered: chicken fried rice - delicious! It's more Chinese style and not sticky like Japanese, but still very good and wayyyy better than the cheapy china wok stuff, and they give you quit a bit. pan fried pork dumplings - so good I didn't even get picture before they were gone. aaaand the shrimp noodle soup.... it was basically an extremely over-priced caldo that you get from a Mexican restaurant with big slimey noodles. The huge chunks of veggies just weren't What you look for in an Asian noodle soup. The shrimp they used were obviously those tiny little frozen bag shrimp. The broth flavor was good, but tasty broth is not worth the nearly $11 They charge. Don't waste your money. I will definitely be...
Read moreMy family and I have ordered from Spicy Chen since they opened, we were one of their first customers, but the staff have become increasingly rude and give me trouble each time I place an order. I placed an order for delivery a few months ago and was a few cents shy of the minimum order and I asked if they could round up my total or tell me what I could add to bring the price up, like an egg roll, and I was told “no, sorry” so I canceled the order. I thought I’d try to order again and just called and asked to substitute an ingredient as I have done that in the past without any trouble, but this time the employee placed me on hold and returned saying they have to charge me. Then I requested something else and she said “no, sorry” so I canceled my order again. The food here is okay, it’s not great, but they deliver which is the only reason my family and I have continued to order from them, but it’s simply not worth the hassle of trying to get our...
