When the OX-B trailer appeared in the parking lot I was intrigued and confused. Not quite a restaurant, not quite a food truck it looked like someone had converted a shipping container into a kitchen. A couple of months later and I am very very happy that we have another option for eating out in Pataskala. With the limited fast food options in Pataskala and most of the options food quality and customer service sucking, my family and I are very happy. So lets get to it, a chicken shack needs to have two staples, good, fresh chicken and bomb sauces to go along with it. We have ordered the boneless meals a few times. Their wings range in size but we feel like we have always got a fair amount for what we paid. The pork rinds are better than any store bought ones that I have ever tried. The white cheddar mac n cheese is always my choice of side and my 4 year old loves the waffle fries. The buffalo mild sauce is actually mild and doesn't just taste like vinegar and hot sauce ( I'm looking at you BW3 and Roosters) Their other sauces that I have tried are all really good*. Carolina Gold, Sweet BBQ, Spicy Garlic and Buffalo Hot are all good. I like their cornbread but my Wife is not a fan. Service is fast and friendly, the drive thru is convenient and the online ordering is nice. My only complaints would be please add the "Sauce on the side" option to the crates (its currently only on the wings ala carte as an option) and *If I had to nit pick I thought that the Garlic Parmesan sauce was very heavy on the parmesan but that is my only gripe and with their selection of sauces its not going to present any issues for...
Read moreFirst let me start by saying I ordered from the Baltimore location but they don't have a listing on maps so I'm leaving my review here..the ordering process was great i ordered online got the txt when it was ready went through the drive thru and picked it up however the food wasn't so great the sides which I ordered the yellow and white mac the cole slaw waffle fries with cheese and corn bread..the cole slaw and corn bread were great the macs and the waffle fries had the potential to be good but were just to salty to be enjoyable. The traditional wings I ordered were mild buffalo Carolina gold and salt & vinegar..the wings were large however they weren't crispy the skin was fatty and chewy and the meat itself was fibrous had they been cooked a lil longer the texture might have been better. As for the sauces and rubs on my wings the Carolina gold and the salt & vinegar were very flavorful but not overwhelming but the mild buffalo literally tasted like water there was no spice no heat no buttery flavor what so ever. Overall I feel i wasted $37 on food thats still in my refrigerator and I won't be...
Read moreWe went here and had the classic chicken sandwich, waffle fry/ spricy bbq boneless wing bowl, yellow mac, waffle fries w/ chili lime dry rub, and cornbread. Everything was absolutely amazing. Their secret signature sauce on the sandwich made me want to finish the sandwich even when I was stuffed. The waffle fries compete w/ Chic-fil-a's and would probably win since you can add any dry rub of your choice to them. I had the chili lime dry rub and it was awesome. The yellow Mac has a great combo of cheeses in it, and isn't runny. The cornbread is crumbly but isn't dry, and is that perfect corn sweetness. The sweet tea is good, for me it was om the sweeter side, but that's just my taste. If your sensitive to sweetness, I'd get it half and half! The price isn't bad either. We paid around $30.00 for everything. Ever been to a KFC? You'll never want to go back to one after eating OX-B's chicken. I will definitely be back in the future. Small restraunts never disappoint me, and this one is at the top...
