Ordered dinner A with pork and seed, crab pop, fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and egg roll. Food came out quite quick which was great but port I on was underwhelming for $13.75. Hate to say it but the only thing I really enjoyed was the pork fried rice. I ate everything else besides the pork and seed which was flavorless, very dry, and didn't even come with mustard, nor seed even though that's how it is listed on menu. I literally left 2.of the three pieces on my plate and for me that happens so rarely I can't remember the last time it did. I mentioned it to waitress and asked if I could just have a little more fried rice instead which she did which was cool. The sweet and sour pork was a bit.over cooked and sauce was the brownish sauce which I'm not partial to but that's more of a preference thing. The egg roll was so greasy inside I'm wondering if fry we r grease hadn't seeped into the egg roll maybe? Crab pops were Allright but definitely no crab and pretty skimpy on the cream cheese also. My biggest thing when dining.outnis always washing down a bite with water and I try to make that very clear when I'm first seated and order ice water as I did on this visit. If a place is super busy I will even ask for a pitcher may be available so that I don't warrant so much attention. There was only one other 4 top table in there while I was and my small cup only got filled twice and for some reason not anywhere near the top. What really bothered me was when she came by to ask about the meal with a pitcher of ice after refilling the four tops waters and my cup was empty yet she never returned with the pitcher. I finished the second d half of my meal with no beverage and that led me to leave a less than 15 pct tip. I worked as a waiter for years at places where I did Caesar salad, cherries jubilee, and bananas foster table side and am a firm believer that if I feel like a tip is undeserved or should be less than 15 that it's time to make a complaint but I didn't feel up to it. Normally I do 30 for great, 25 for very good, 20 for good, and 15 for meh so it was pretty bad considering there was nothing else going on. Maybe its because i complained about the pork. I hate to mention it as its not really their fault but I went to use the bathroom on my way out and some fool had peed in front of the toilet and I dont mean missed it looked intentional don't. One other thing that bothered me was that my total was $14.95? 6pct on $14 is 84 cents and the meal was $13.75. Not enough to quibble about but i do t appreciate being overcharged in today's economy by one red cent especially when everyone is raising prices and shrinking portions by so much which this place indeed has. I looked at old menu and ptmrice was $10.95 on same meal which is a mark up of over 25pct. Anyways good Chinese food is hard to find and I hope this helps the restaurant with their operation and anyone out there looking for that steaming plate of greatness. Next time I'll just go...
Read moreExcellent price for value. FRESH fried rice, tasted better than what I would regularly get in China itself. Crazy good gem in a small town. If you're in Ontario, this is MUCH better Chinese food than any "Asian" stuff you can get over there (barring the sushi). Lots of veggies with the meat dish though so know that if you're going for the beef. Personally wouldn't recommend the fried shrimp either, it's the cheaper long ones vs. the massive, juicy and delicious ones they stirfry with. Interesting take on Mapo Tofu (but don't expect any Sichuan Peppercorns this far north) and a unique twist on SWEET hot and sour soup with an interesting crunch. Also a interesting take on Lo Mein being Chow Mein and Chow Mein being some crazy new invention involving crispy noodles?! Lady Ma is also quick, friendly and the most interesting character in town who is a polyglot with a story worthy of a movie. My new go to place in Eastern Oregon/Western Idaho's Treasure Valley....
Read moreWe WERE regulars at this restaurant in Payette. The food has always been average at best, and in the past when we got old or cold items, the food would be fixed after some back and forth with the waitress. Today when our meal came out 2 minutes after ordering, obviously too quick for anything to be fresh, and we asked for a hot replacement for the chicken, it came back microwaved and tougher than rubber. The waitress then began arguing with my fiancé and I about replacing the chicken and when we said we were not paying for cold food she told us “Yes you are” and after arguing further said she would take the chicken off the bill…..BUT DIDN’T. The experience ruined our entire day, which should have never had to go to that level. Poor service and...
