Polar Queen Drive Inn — Restaurant in Payson

I really try to support local restaurants, but this experience was the worst. Not only did they get our order wrong and we still had to pay for the wrong order, one employee was unnecessarily rude . When we asked about the menu they told us to read the sign, we had to point out to them that we had and they didn't have the shake options on the sign that was available. She gave us options and we ordered two shakes. The she gave us one shake and it was wrong, when we pointed this out, she made another shake, but still charged us for the wrong shake. I told her that we still didn't get the two shakes that we paid for. The cashier was rude, impatient, and unprofessional. Then when I pointed out again that we still didn't have our two shakes, she asked for the wrong shake back, we gave it to her, and a couple minutes past and she came with what we thought was a new shake. It was the same wrong shake with a new straw in it. Then I called the restaurant and that employee answered the phone and I asked to talk with a manager. She called over to someone and shouted, "Hey (insert innocent employee's name) pretend to be a manager". As soon as the other person got on the phone, I told them that I heard what she she said and asked to talk to a manager, the second employee was very nice and I appreciated it, and the manager was extremely nice and helpful. Though I appreciate the kindness from the latter two people, I will not return there while that other employee...

Great Service, Great Food, Great Prices! When we travel, my husband & I frequent local eateries instead of chain places & the Polar Queen is one of the best...maybe THE best fast food we've had through the years. I had the Deluxe Sea Burger (lettuce, tomato, cheese but no pickle) on a toasted sesame bun. I love toasted sandwiches & this one was the way I like it. The edges are crunchy & the rest lightly toasted. I requested tartar sauce on the side & they gladly complied. I then slathered the square cod burger with tartar sauce & enjoyed every bite! My husband enjoyed his cod fish & chips too. We also ordered a hot fudge shake. It is the BEST & real hot fudge I've had (not some chocolate syrup dressed up to pass off as something called hot fudge)!!! We left knowing we'll be going there next time we are in Payson! Thank You Polar Queen!!

Update 3 years later: Since that 1st review, when we go thru Payson, we sometimes stop for food, but always stop by for hot fudge shakes. I'm not a chocolate lover, but their hot fudge is awesome! I decided to get lunch with my kids and ordered each of us a burger including one to take to my husband, they charged me for 5 and when she handed me my food specified that one bag had 3 and the other bag had 2.. I didn't think I needed to bother checking so once we opened the bags to eat, 1 cheeseburger was missing, I called and let them know and just asked if I could get a refund and they said they could make me another so I said okay whatever I paid 4 bucks for it so might as well get my money out of it. I showed up 20 minutes later and they didn't even know they were making me another cheeseburger.. So I stood there for 20 more minutes and counting while the workers kept glaring at me seeming annoyed that I came back for a burger they screwed me out of yet I watched people get served their food who came in after me and ordered while I was still waiting! Then I left, I got screwed out of 4$ and a cheeseburger! Way to go polar queen, that's some of the most TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever had! I sure hope you at least gave someone else that burger for free since you screwed me out of it! You Lost...
