Phillip M's Fine Dining — Restaurant in Pearl River

After several friends recommended this place for a fine dining experience, I decided to make a reservation for my son and me after a couple of rounds of golf. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. We spent $273 for two people, and the entire meal was terrible.

Things started off well with a prompt seating and our server quickly bringing our drink orders, except for a cocktail I ordered, which was delivered by another server about 15 minutes later.

We ordered appetizers and salads, and our server offered to stagger the delivery if we were ready to order our entrées. Surprisingly, the salads came out first instead of the appetizers. I had the chophouse wedge salad, which was served without blue cheese dressing. It was dry except for a few blue cheese crumbles, and I couldn't get the server's attention to bring the dressing. Perhaps they were saving me some calories.

When the shellfish trio arrived, I had high hopes, but it seemed like the food came from the adjacent seafood buffet. The crab claws were rubbery and not fresh, and while the shrimp were a good size, they were also rubbery and not fresh.

We didn't see our server again until the end of the meal. Another server brought our steaks and left immediately, not giving us a chance to check the temperature. We ordered a filet and a bone-in KC Prime steak, both medium. However, both steaks were cooked rare. I can usually tolerate undercooked steak, but the KC strip was so tough it was hard to cut, let alone eat. The filet was too undercooked for my son's liking.

Our server finally reappeared at the end. Thanks.

I love this place! If you've never been, you must try the Saffron Chowder...there is nothing else like it! It ranks right up there as one of the best menu item I've ever had anywhere. Get the Grande...you will not regret it! Also had a KC Strip Steak medium rare with fries and it was wonderful too. Some might consider it pricey, but you get what you pay for and they always over deliver. This is a quite little get away in the casino with outstanding service. They treat you like a king on every visit. If you are ever there at the SilverStar Casino, plan an evening at Phillip M's. ...

We had a gift certificate for 2 a 100.00 value. My husband got the half of roasted chicken with lemon herbs..it was OK. He also got a salad. I got the Waygu burger...it wasn't so good, tough and dry. I also got the French Onion Soup. It was really good. We both drank water. Our total was 93.00..so informed our server that we wanted her to have what was left over on the gift certificate. She informed us that it wasn't allowed that the rest of our money would just be wasted. We left our server a generous tip because SHE provided excellent service, but I was not impressed with the...
