El Charro — Restaurant in Pee Pee Township

Never eating here again. I found a STRING in my shrimp quesadilla. I pulled it out wondering if it was a piece of cheese or strand of shrimp (even though shrimp does not do that), but I tried to pull it apart and it was a fabric string that did not stretch, it was quite thick. I saw the fabric coming loose at the ends and I was for sure it was string after that. The waiter came to my table and asked if everything was fine and I let him know about my recent discovery and I held up the string and he took it and tried to tell me it was chicken. I took it back, and tightly pulled it apart to show him that it was most definitely string on TOP of that I told him that I did not eat any meat besides seafood when I was ordering so there should not have been chicken in my shrimp entree. He ran to the back then came out to say it must have been the string tied around the rice bag. My question though, how did the string get INSIDE my folded up shrimp quesadilla. Must not be a very clean place in the back where our food is being prepared and cooks are not being mindful. I understand things happen, but I could have choked if I had bitten and tried swallowing it. It was very disturbing and changed my view on the food service...

Update 2023: El Charro has really stepped things up since I posted this review. The flavors are much better recently and when I'm craving Mexican I no longer drive to Chillicothe. I would give them a try if your passing through or haven't tried them in a while.

The main advantage of El charro is that it is situated in Waverly. So if you are looking for Mexican food and you're in the area, it's your only real option without driving half an hour. The food can be decent but almost everything here is more expensive, has smaller portions and isn't as good tasting as their competitors in Chillicothe. Many years ago when El charro first opened, It was better in many ways than other Mexican restaurants in the region. I hope some day they will be able to attain that level of...

El Charro is a great place to eat in Waverly Ohio. The servers here are truly great and if you come regularly you get to know each of them and they get to know you and you fill like friends or even family with the ppl who work here . When they had the air hockey table up an running the owner Ramin came out and introduced himself to our family.My girls were playing and he started playing air hockey with them for probably 2 hours why me and the rest of my family watched, talked,ate and hangout together.
