Bluegrass BBQ — Restaurant in Pembroke

It's truly an unfortunate thing that my opinion of this facility has changed so drastically, but it has. I once felt as if the people who represent and lead Bluegrass BBQ as a whole, and as a growing business were truly something very special. I felt as if there was compassion for others just by the words they spoke. I was totally convinced that thier actions came from a genuinely warm, and accepting place, but sadly I've learned; that isn't the case at all. I've truly never been so sucker punched by wrong doing and unappreciative acts they way that I was recently by them. What they've done was and is wrong, frankly seemed as if it was used to eliminate a preexisting, and intimidating issue by some, but hey.... it's partly yours; so do with it what you will. Now I've forgiven, for sure; but I will forever remember the hurt my heart is filled with now when I think of my time spent there, and the unkind treatment I have received. I hope business continues to climb for these folks, but I know that if the colors shown to me personally were true, then ...........well then; I wish them the best of luck. It was so wonderful being as blessed as I was for the time I was welcomed there, and how completely HONORED I was to have worked beside the one I did. I LOVE U; U r simply THE BEST, and if ever you B's find yourselves in yet another business opportunity with the potential for growth like Bluegrass had/has, and need a STRONG TEAM PLAYER, and most definitely, willing if able, LEADER; then KNOW we can SHOOT THE MOON!!!😘 I hope and pray that all stays great for all............ well most, and I thank you kindly for the opportunities you all once gave me. I ordered the grilled barbecued chicken breast platter, which came with two sides and 2 chicken breasts. With a piece of texas toast. It was a ton of food and gave me plenty of food to take home after eating my fill. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, even after reheating the next day. They have 4 sauces at each table that you can put on your barbecued item. I've only tried the Carolina gold, which is one of my favorite types of sauce. It was good as well. The two sides I ordered were green beans and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat the green beans due to a pork allergy. The green beans have pulled pork barbecue incorporated into them. That sounds pretty awesome. But due to the allergy, I couldn't partake. The waitress was super kind and was happy to get me a different side, which I was embarrassed to have to ask. She was so sweet and gave me mashed potatoes and gravy. Gravy also came with chicken. I normally love gravy and think it should be its own food group... but I digress. The gravy was smoked, and in theory, that sounds pretty awesome. However, it was all smoke and no gravy flavor because the smoke rook over. The mashed potatoes were good, and you can tell they made them from scratch. The mac and cheese was just ok. I unfortunately am a bit of a mac and cheese snob, so that is no fault of there's. It was a bit bland and could use a lot more cheese like a sharp cheddar. I had also ordered some hush puppies, and they were amazing. This is my first time here as I was passing through on thanksgiving weekend. When I was looking up restaurants near by to eat “Bluegrass BBQ” was top on my suggestions. I’m truly glad I got the opportunity to eat here! This place is phenomenal everything was up to par! For an appetizer we ordered the fried pickles and for being a smaller size the golden brown sauce was delicious. I ordered the combination B on the menu and I received the catfish which was extra crispy and the ribs. The ribs were just right and I mixed 2 of their sauces when I ate my ribs. With that combination I got 3 sides and I got the mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, and the pepper slaw. The pepper slaw I didn’t not care for. However, the sweet potato casserole was great. The Mac and cheese was great nothing out of this world, but good. I did take a bite of my family members fried pork chop and man I wish I ordered that! Also, my family member ordered the smoked chicken and he loved it. I would definitely come back here if I was ever in the area.
