Don's NY Pizza in Peoria — Restaurant in Peoria

Well, fourth time ordering from Don's and it will unfortunately be our last, even though my husband and I love the food. We love it so much in fact that we have already recommended many friends and family.

On Saturday, I thought I would use their online feature to order dinner for delivery. My husband and I ordered the two pizza special for $30.99. I wanted a cheese pizza with jalapeños and my husband wanted a pepperoni. The online order system says: 1st Pizza Toppings. I selected jalapeños. It adds $4 to the total. (Note, while this is pricey, we know that they change $4 for every topping and don't mind). It allows you to select as many topping as you want for the first pizza, but as said above, I just wanted jalapeños. So I moved to the next section, second pizza toppings: I selected pepperoni. While ordering | was concerned that it would add both topping to both pizzas, but when I selected both toppings for both pizzas it added $16 to the total. So I was confident we were only getting one topping per pizza as our total was $38 (it would be $47 with both toppings on both pizzas).

Well, our order arrived an it had both toppings on both pizzas.

I was so bummed because I don't eat meat. Please know that I am in my twenties and my least favorite thing to do in the world is complain about food. I NEVER send food back. But I mustered up the courage to call, mostly because we just spent $38 on these pizzas, it was a mistake made by the restaurant and we couldn’t eat these pizzas.

The woman on the phone was nice as I told her about the issue, but when I concluded telling her what was wrong she said, oh I'm so sorry that happened.... we'll have a good night. I think she realized the awkward pause on the phone because she then sheepishly asked if we wanted one of the pizzas to be remade. I apologized profusely (again, even though it wasn't my fault) but asked if they could both be remade because we wouldn't be able to eat either one.

She said she would have to check and came back on the phone and said, "the cook said he would remake them but he told me to tell you not to use the online ordering system ever again". I apologized and thanked her. I then got off the phone and cried from feeling so embarrassed. My husband and I gathered up some money to give the delivery driver a tip again.

When the food arrived about an hour later (which is not problem) | met the delivery driver outside, thanked her, gave her the $7, and grabbed the pizzas. As I was walking away she told me they needed the old pizzas back. I will say the delivery driver seemed apologetic and embarrassed to have to ask this as even she knew this was rude.

I told her okay, and went a grabbed the uneaten pizzas (Don's, they were uneaten because we COULDN'T eat them like we said). I handed her the uneaten and cold pizzas feeling completely embarrassed once again.

Coming from someone who has ordered four times in a month, and left a 5 star review, let me say you lost a costumer.

Thanks for remaking the pizzas you made wrong, but we won't ever be back. Also, fix your website.

You want GREAT food? Fresh and delicious ingredients? Do you want just good food? If you are from NY you are going to LOVE this place. If you are from AZ or anywhere else... you are also going to LOVE this place.It is NY style but it is just absolutely delicious!!!

Don's got you covered! You come in and you feel like family and all the food is made with great pride and passion! I stopped by tonight and ordered Chicken Rolls... if you have never had a Chicken Roll before, you must try this.. it's absolutely undeniable amazingly delicious! I love them because Don's is the only one true place that makes them exactly the way they are supposed to be made. This is not to mention another extremely important part of the food making process.... they truly put their heart into the food that they make and that alone stands above the crowd of all the other pizza places. Mix that with just absolutely delicious pizza, a yummy Sicilian and you have a 10 star place to eat.

Everything is clean inside, customer service is second to none, and it has a nice feel to the place. All in all... I am going to become a regular here. It's not too far from my home but it's worth the extra short miles. I pass all the other ordinary pizza places with a smile because I know I'm going to get the best!!!

On another visit I ordered (yes) a Chicken Roll and it's out of this world. I also ordered a Sicilian pie which was perfect and delicious! I simply can't say enough about Don's. GO here... chicken roll, pizza, whatever you are going to order from the menu it top notch and made with great pride. He's very happy to always make it the best and it truly is.... the BEST!!!

It's hard to rate this one. I went their this passed weekend and order a chicken roll ("chicken parm pizza roll" as they call it) along with an XL Sicilian pie.

The chicken roll - Mind you... you'd be hard pressed to find a place that makes a chicken roll like you would get in NY. This was as close as I have got. For a chicken roll this was PERFECT! The portion size, the dough, mozz cheese, breaded thin chicken cutlets.. WOW!!! This was not only beautiful but it was amazingly delicious! For this along they earned a 5 star rating from me although I would like to give 10 stars!! Just thinking about it is making my mouth water again... and I WILL be back again...

We have been coming to Dons since the first week they opened. This was our go to for pizza and wings. This past weekend we ordered our usual extra large pizza and wing special. This time walking in the kitchen didn't appear as clean as it used to. We walked in about 5 mins before the estimated completion time. We let the kid at the Register know we're waiting for a pickup order. He looked at the pizzas that were ready and went back to work. There was a customer complaining looking for his wings that he ordered, he was telling them he had recieved his pizza 10 mins ago but the wings were never brought to him, so he canceled his order. We waited about 15 mins then told the kid at the counter how much longer do we need to wait. The kid walked towards the fryer and asked the other employee about wings, the employee just threw his hands in the air. Then wings were being tossed in the sause, I belive these were not my wings but the gentleman that canceled his order. The wings were packaged and then the pizza that was sitting on the oven ( the one that the kid originally looked at) was given to me. The pizza had to have probably had been sitting there for at least 20 mins. The customer service was the worst I have ever seen here. We were always happy with the service and the food but now we have had a change of heart. We will no longer be visiting this Dons location. You have lost a die...
