Golden Kitchen Restaurant — Restaurant in Peoria

We liked GK in the past, but had a really bad experience with their delivery service recently that has made us decide to look elsewhere for Chinese. The food delivery was more than an hour late when we were finally told by their website customer service (after speaking to several people) that the delivery driver canceled the order, yet we were never informed, nor refunded prior to calling.

The people I spoke to were often times rude, either sending us to a “manager’s phone number” that literally didn’t exist, and even hanging up once when we said it would need to be canceled if they couldn’t remake it and get it out to us. Her response was “Okay,” and then she disconnected the call.

We paid $40 to basically waste our time for an hour and a half and still not have food by 10 at night.

Worse was the fact that only their website customer service even expressed any apology for the poor service. GK themselves didn’t even offer a discount or offer to make it for us to pick up. It was the first time we’ve had an issue with them, but it was bad enough that we do not...

I just ordered $30 worth of food that just wasn't what I expected. I've ordered from this restaurant before and it's been decent, they are very clean and the customer service is great, but tonite.... The food was dare I say aweful. Mind you I ordered 30 mins before closing but you'd think since it wasn't a cheap order the food would be made with better quality. It all taste thrown together and very bland. I ordered House fried rice, wings and mushroom with beef which was more mushroom then anything.... and canned mushrooms!!! The sauce was thick and just not right.... I typically order from Ming Shee on University. Their food is ALWAYS right and of good quality. Besides the wings (which are amazing) the food tonite from Golden Kitchen just wasn't good. The chicken in the rice was dried out and hard to digest, there was like 2 shrimp in the house fried rice, completely disappointed and should of stuck with my first mind and...

I was going to dine in but decided not to since it was quite small inside and bare, meaning it lacked any appeal to dine in.

The staff was busy in the back making the food. The cashier, a young woman, appeared nice and took my order at the counter. I sat and waited for no more than 10 minutes. She verified my order as correct.

I brought the food home, it was still warm and it tasted good. I got the chicken curry that came with rice and an egg roll. I also ordered crab rangoon. There were 8 pieces of crab rangoon but only 2 small packets of orange sauce. So that was a little disappointing.

All in all I would come back and place a take out order again. But next time I would ask for...
