Tea Cafe — Restaurant in Pepperell

I placed a take out order and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. At the 55 minute mark, I asked when my order would be ready. They couldn't find it in their system. They spent 15 minutes looking with no luck. They suggested that I wait longer. I left after an hour and 10 minutes with no food.

1 week later: I left the above review while still in their parking lot after leaving with no food. I was not very happy. For the sake of being fair, they just reopened after moving to a wonderful new location. They are always swamped since reopening. This was my 3rd time there since they reopened. While at their previous location, they were my weekly go-to for Chinese food. It was always great, always. Growing pains...

Obviously with being open only a few short days, there are kinks to work out. The staffing is short, phones were ringing off the hook and the line was out the door. Had a drink waiting on take out order. The staff were busting their behinds trying diligently to take care of everyone. The line was long with take out orders and folks waiting to be seated. My drink was decent, my order was forgotten so I had to wait longer. I can't really blame the waitress, as I said, they didn't seem to have enough staff. When I got home, my food was pretty good, didn't care for the rice, but the beef lo mein and PuPu platter were dynamite! Will definitely order again and if you know anyone looking for a job, I bet you can...

I am very satisfied with this little chinese restaurant. They definitely are Not going to win the award for best Chinese restaurant I have eaten at, but for a small town chiense restaurant they are very good (compared to what you usually get). Some dished are much better than others, but nothing is terrible.

Their kung pao chicken (szechuan spicy chicken) is actually one of my favorites. I have had it at probably 10 other places, but might be a contender for the best. I also like the house special fried rice. Good flavor and they don't skimp on the meat. All the fried options and appetizers are decent, but nothing special.
