I was visiting this area but could tell this place is loved by locals. I went to this place twice this week, one time for a carry out and the second time for a dine-in. Each time the restaurant was not at all empty even though it wasn’t exactly a typical meal time. Overall, my family were very satisfied with the foods! 1. Sushi & sashimi: the amount of sashimi, rice and wasabi they offer was insanely generous. The sashimi on top of the sushi and the sashimi itself were very thick so you will definitely taste the fish. I was very touched and impressed. Weird that wasabi was not readily included in each sushi piece though. When I ordered a carry out the other day wasabi was nowhere to be found. But when I dined in, wasabi was served separately so I was at least able to put some on each piece of sushi myself. I thought the size of the plate made the portion size deceptively larger than what it is but no… it was just overall a very generous portion…. For sushi especially!!!!! 2. Chicken katsu: I ordered a chicken katsu for my two little kids. My jaw dropped for the large portion size. Very generous, again. The chicken was crispy, thinly sliced, which was good for my little ones, and came with a large amount of rice. (And a fried egg and broccolis.) We all loved it. 3. Rolls: the menu is honestly overwhelming, especially with so many options of rolls. I tried tuna with jalapeño (as part of the sushi deluxe) and spicy tuna roll (pic not included). They were amazing and I immediately understood their confidence in their long list of roll options. But, someone new may feel intimidated by the many options, like me. 4. Stir fried rice (pic not included): I do not recommend. Go for it only if you are looking for a healthy version with less sauce. 5. Teriyaki: similar as above (#4). 6. Service: Given the inflation and crazy up-charged gratuity in the restaurant industry, their service model should be the standard now. You order at the counter and pay right there and they bring your foods to your table. No check-ins while eating. Way to go!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Johnny's Sushi, and , it was a great experience. A true hidden gem in Perryville, MD. The food was fantastic! We decided to try the sushi boat, and it was a great. The boat was filled with a wide variety of delicious rolls, we picked rainbow roll and this unique lobster tail tempura roll. Each bite was delightful. What really impressed me was the attention to detail and the generous portions, even in the kids' meals. The kids portions were surprisingly large, ensuring that everyone at the table left satisfied. The ambience inside Johnny's Sushi can be described as both neat and unexpected asian chic. It's as if you've stumbled upon a hidden gem, a secret oasis of sushi excellence. The exterior of the restaurant presents a contrasting scene, with its unassuming facade and perhaps a modest signage. Service was just okay, they did forget some my saki and you have to order at the counter instead of waiter/waitress. Overall, we're lucky to find great sushi spot while visiting the area.

The only sushi bar I eat at. I always get the Tempura California roll and highly recommend it. You order through a QR code and the staff quickly brings it out to you. I thought it was going to be inconvenient at first but then ended up liking it after using it. If you are like me and get frustrated when you have to wait for someone to come over to get you something, then you will like this. You can even order to-go boxes (at no charge) with your check. Refills? No problem because you can order it and they come right out. Worst case you can always go up to the counter and place your order if you so please. It’s one of the few times I can say I prefer using this method. It’s very efficient. At the end of the day all I can say is I have been coming here for years and I have always gotten quality sushi. I usually get the bento lunch/ dinner because it is the perfect combination of; 1 sushi roll, rice, spring roll, meat & fortune cookie.

So- I love this place- sushi is always on par- my family will drop $100-$120 a visit here and pick it up to bring home.I always get the shrimp yakisoba, a sushi appetizer, we get fried Rice, lo mein, egg rolls and shrimp of some variation. The food is always packed full, the portions are sizable and we are always happy with the purchases here. We lived in Japan and this by far has been my go to for as close as possible yakisoba. Until today. My yakisoba lacked flavor and the bin was barely full. Just a few shrimp were added. I was so let down- no solid yakisoba flavor at all. All I tasted was oil. Blech!! I dunno if the new business in town is ruining our good Johnny sushi— but our $100 meal was NOT DELICIOUS AT ALL. -feeling Midori.
