La Casa del Toro — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

Another Dominican establishment where if you are not a guy you are not waited on. I literally looked for menus for my table after waiting almost ten minutes to be approached. Not to mention there were several wait staff standing there talking to each other. I actually went next to them to pick up the menus because they were standing in front of it. We didn't receive any service until a woman who was next to our table asked her waitress if they can find our waitress because we were waiting for a while. The food was nothing that would make me go back it was very basic. I do remember someone from my table ordering a skirt steak and it was the TINIEST peace I've ever seen. Especially for what they charge for. It literally was a perfect dish for an appetizer. They had live music the night I went. The dining space separate from the bar area needs work. The walls are plain and the way the plates and utensils are kept in plain sight in the same area along with the refrigerator for the beverages it just feels like an extension of the kitchen. Great selection of fresh steaks, good culinary knowledge is displayed at the restaurant. The owner/manager is attentive and ensures the customers are satisfied with their orders/drinks.
