This is a very critical review because this place seems like they hold themselves to high standards. I was not dissatisfied at all. I just hope someone that can offer advice to the kitchen sees this. We got the bang bang calamari. The breading is very good. Great job on that. But the rings of the head and the half tentacles need to be cooked to different times. The rings were over cooked and the half tentacles were cooked very well. But it's mostly rings so that's kind of important because overcooked squid is chewy. The bang bang sauce is not bad. But i wouldn’t get it again. From tasting it I'd say more acid and less sweatness, and maybe some resting time. It tasted very fresh. But it's hard to say when I don't know the ingredients or prep method. The tomato based sauce that came with the calamri was really really good. Home made or not, that stuff is good. I'd buy that sauce to use at home. The chicken picatta was really good but the sauce was a little watery. That possibly could have been one of my top 10 favorite dishes ever if the sauce wasn't watery. I very much appreciate proper simplicity. Pasta and chicken were cooked well, capers were good quality as were the cherry tomatoes. The sauce had flavor but I couldn't detect any lemon. Possibly the watery aspect diluted that flavor. For the chicken parm, the breading gets soggy too fast and the sauce was watery and too sweet. I didn't order that myself or I would have sent back with an explanation. Overall I did enjoy my time here. And I will be back again! But I genuinely hope this review is taken respectfully and I hope it only helps! I will be delighted to change my review to a 5 star if my experience when I come back is 5 star worthy to someone as critical as me. And I will be happy to explain why it's...
Read moreA few months ago some friends from out of state and I thought we'd start with drinks here and then eat at another place we agreed on earlier. But after the staff, Tasia at the bar, and Riley were so friendly and knowledgeable we decided to take a look at the menu, get apps, and put in our dinner order. While waiting we had another drink, I'll definitely be having the Spicy Blackberry Margarita again. Riley seated us in the dining area which featured a full wall video projection of a live feed of the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy. We saw people in real-time riding in gondolas, this moment from 4,500 miles away was the extra Parmesan on the pasta, eating Italian food while essentially looking out the window at Venice. It seems trivial but this extra touch made our dining experience something we told friends about, texting photos to them. Two weeks ago we got together there again, enjoyed the drinks, apps, dinner, and talking with Tasia, Riley, Katie, and Leah, all top notch staff. What was missing this visit though was the live-feed, which is why I didn't give 5 stars to Atmosphere. Instead it was replaced by a dull travelogue, moving wallpaper of the Alps, ski slopes, etc, still it was in Italy, but the shared time experience was missing. Certainly the reason to dine there, food, service, etc, remained but that small additional feature for us was the elusive tipping point that had elevated Corner 612. Maybe next time we go we'll put in an order for a...
Read moreThe food was decent, but the service was very disappointing. We ordered the ribeye steak, but the kitchen made the “special of the day” instead, a New York strip, which is a completely different cut of meat. We were never told about a special, and when we asked, the server said it was posted at the front door. However, we came in through the back entrance, so we never saw it and no one mentioned it to us.
There was no apology for the mix-up. The server just asked if we were okay with what the chef made, rather than offering to fix the mistake. On top of that, the steak wasn’t cooked the way we ordered it. When we pointed that out, she didn’t respond, just walked away.
We were still charged for the ribeye, and the only reason we received a discount was because the steak was improperly cooked, not because they gave us the wrong meal. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism really...
