A Huge Disappointment... I stopped in yesterday around 5:50 or so and ordered two large subs (TBR/Hook and Ladder) on white bread to go. My issue wasn't discovered until were arrived home later in the evening and sat down to eat our subs. The bread on the bottom of both subs was water logged and turned to mush in your hands as you would try to pick it up to take a bite. Normally I would call right away but the owner was NOT in the store when I ordered my food. I had been a frequent customer for years and I know who she is as we have had many pleasant conversations when I'm ordering food. Knowing this, I wanted to wait to speak directly to her so nothing was miscommunicated. I was also home and done with my day and not about to waste the gas to turn around and go back there immediately. Why would I if she wasn't even in the store anyway? I thought a call would suffice. Today I called the store and was able to speak with her. She informed me that her policy is she will only give a full refund/remake food if the customer calls in the same day. I explained the reasons for my waiting until today. She offered a 50% discount on my next order. I've been a customer here for years now and I've never had a negative experience... until now. I paid $29.03 for two sandwiches and the quality was absolutely not there. This firehouse has raised their menu pricing several times in the last few years. I usually never review anything unless something is extreme be it good or bad. This experience definitely falls into the negative. I paid just under thirty dollars for two subs, for that price, soggy bread is not acceptable to my family. I'm bothered enough by this turnout that my family will no longer be giving Firehouse in McMurray our business. It's a shame and I have to say a really big disappointment but it's her store and that's her policy so I guess that's that. A word of warning to future customers... should there be a problem with your food, call the store immediately to rectify the issue. Again, such a letdown. I don't feel like this was done on purpose but I don't feel like the owner made it right. I didn't wait several days to bring this up, I caled the next day. But I noticed the woman was on the phone with a customer so I patiently waited. Once the call was over the woman at the register just blankly stared at me. Didn't greet or offer to take an order. I recall this employee doing this before. So I said are you going to take my order. My presence obviously annoyed her to I decided not to order and leave. Exchanging bickering while leaving the store etc. All while the manager on duty or whoever she would be was defending the rudness of the staff. Now I can see where these other reviews for bad service come from. They must have dealt with the rude young woman employee that doesn't like to deal with customers. I didn't get any names but I'm sure this location will continue to get negative reviews for service as long as this woman works here. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally donāt leave reviews, however itās on my heart to share that today (9/22/25 around 1pm) I was picking up DoorDash when I noticed there were 3 staff members total, one was clearly new and being mistreated. A younger woman (staff) was āteachingā the newer employee (older woman) what to do and continuously belittling her. The third employee (younger man) also took part in this behavior, as both employees āteachingā this woman (who was clearly trying her best) continuously belittled her, even giving each other looks, laughing at her behind her back, but in front of customers. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I felt so terrible for the woman trying to learn today, I hope she decides to not to stay at this place of employment being treated by her...
