I donât know what it is about the El Taquito locations but their call in order service is ALWAYS terrible. Sometimes I skip this place just because the thought of having to deal with their bad service makes me cringe.
Iâm going to start to log every customer service experience I have with this restaurant:
2/2019 Called in a pick up order. Went to the location and used their convenient drive through service. I pick up my meal and ask for salsa. The employee then proceeds to tell me that if I want salsa I have to come inside. I look at her and say, youâre telling me you offer a drive through service for pick up orders but make all your customers come inside for salsa? What sense does that make? She then says, âwell Iâll just get it for you If you wantâ I get home and notice that they put all our tacos unwrapped, together in a box. This was a pain because we had ordered several for different people. They were also so cold that the tortilla had started to get hard at the top.
Make it right: Have salsas already packaged in To Go containers and toss them in the pick up order bags. Individually wrap your tacos with foil.
3/30/2019 I called in to place and order over the phone. I order a plate of regular green chilaquiles. I tell her that I donât want any meat. No eggs, no chicken no steak, just a regular order. She then says âthe plate comes with two eggsâ. I say, so youâre telling me that my order HAS to include eggs? Bruh! She then tells me to hold, after making me hold for 5 minutes she says that that theyâll make my order without eggs. I get home an lord and behold part of my order is missing! I had to drive all the way back to the location to get the rest of it! Did they apologize or offer to make it right? NO. Instead they gave me my missing order and when I got home it was burnt!!!
Make it right: Make your employees aware of what modifications they can make on orders. Inspect your to To Go orders for quality and to ensure the order is correct before handing them off to...
   Read moreShortly after getting our table I went to the restroom and it was the most disgusting bathroom I've seen. Urinal was clogged full of barf and over flowing, barf all over the urinal stall and floor full of water. I went back to my table sick to my stomach but tried to hold it together since my wife and son were with me and were hungry. We reluctantly ordered some tostadas and a barbacoa plate but soon after ordering my wife posed the question what if it was the food that made someone sick? and I thought, if that's how they have their restroom what is there to think about the kitchen area? I respectfully asked the server to cancel my order and I would pay for the drinks but he told me they had already made the tostadas so they would have to charge me. I didn't make a big deal but when I got the bill it was over 30 dollars for 3 drinks and 1 tostada plate. I told him I wasn't even going to eat the tostadas and said if that's how you have your restroom where customers can walk in and see, how can I expect the kitchen to be any better where customers can't see? He apologized but he insisted that I owed the money since they had to make the food. The manager backed up what he was saying and said I needed to pay. I paid for the food we didn't eat and left before the situation escalated because they clearly did not care and only wanted to get paid. I have worked in hospitality before and in restaurants and this is no way to treat customers. I don't recommend this place, where they clearly don't care about their customers.    Read moreSpecialty margaritas are very good. Food was good too, but it took a long time too arrive and wasn't hot, so we could tell it had been sitting out for awhile. The service was pretty awful. The staff just doesn't seem to care about the quality of service and cleanliness. We were seated at a dirty table & chairs, given a dirty salsa tray and I had to request that they clean the table and bring us a new tray. My silverware was dirty too. The floor and other tables were very dirty. I didn't see one employee bussing tables. Even though our empty plates were stacking up, no one took notice to remove them so we just started leaving them on the empty table next to us. They were still there when we left after dining for about an hour. I even watched multiple servers and managers walk by the pile of dirty dishes and completely ignore it. I'd also like to note that the restaurant was not busy at all while we were there. We weren't offered any additional salsas and had to seek these out ourself. Our server had no clue about menu items or drink pricing and even though we asked her to check on some things, she totally forgot. We didn't ask her again because we basically gave up expecting good service. At least the food and drinks were tasty (even if the food was cold) We might try this location again in hopes that their service will improve or maybe we just caught them on a very off day.
