Mamiez Kitchen — Restaurant in Pflugerville

I was in the mood for some Mexican style tacos and Googledfor that and came upon this food truck. I'm assuming it's pretty new, because there were but a a few reviews for it. I took a look at the menu and saw they had al pastor tacos and empanadas and had to try it out. It was a hard to find off the 130 service road because it's all the way in the back of a long driveway and it was night time. There's ample parking shared by a bar/restaurant next to it.

So let's get into the how the tacos tasted! They were surprisingly good. My Al Pastor tacos was cooked just right. They were mini tacos about 6, on corn with cheese, onions and cilantro no pineapple. They were scrumptious and moist meaning it wasn't dried out or overcooked. This will definitely go into my taco spot rotation! The empanadas were very good. I had the chicken and cheese and the strawberry cheesecake sweet empanadas. I really liked the chicken and cheese empanada. It was very robust with meat, cheese and flavor. The strawberry cheesecake I didn't like it was too runny, but it did have a real strawberry! I'll try the apple pie empanada next time. The empanada crusts were perfect very crispy not soggy and a nice flavor.

Review: The only thing cheesy about this spot is their quesa birria options. Their quesa birria tacos were cheesy packed with beef birria and serve with a side of hot consome. Their flautas were the real deal fried, crunchy, flavorful and again super cheesy. Their birria egg rolls were next level with a super crunchy exterior that is a perfect bite once you dip it in the consome. The highlight of the day was the agua fresca super refreshing which had the pineapple and mango mixed to create this amazing fusion that was elevated by the sweet tartness of the chamoy and tajin. I can’t wait to go back for their other birria options and aguas frescas.

The food, FREAKIN FANTASTIC! 😋 ..... but .... THE OWNERS!? Some of the nicest people I have ever come across, since I have been in Texas! They are Respectful, they ALWAYS go the EXTRA MILE 4 customers and most importantly they are "A FAMILIA", A family doing all they can do to make their DREAMS become REALITY!
