Cafe 431 — Restaurant in Phenix City

I wasn't entirely pleased with the service we received on the day of our visit. I ordered a patty melt without cheese, and not only did it not have the cheese, but it also didn't have sautéed onions. It was just a dry sandwich. Also, had I known there was seafood, I would've ordered the seafood special. I mentioned it to the cashier, and she said they're on the blue menu specials list on our table. I told her that it was not written anywhere on the blue menu on our table. I didn't argue or make a fuss about it because she was certain it was there for me or any other customer to see. After paying and going back to my table, my daughter said she heard what the cashier said, and she said it was not typed or written anywhere on our blue menu. Maybe on other tables, but most definitely not ours. Also, my daughter had coffee, and not once after bringing our coffee, did our waitress offer a refill. Others were being asked about refills. I know I don't eat there as often as others do, but as a customer, you hope to have a wonderful or at least decent experience at any establishment or place of business you enter no matter if it's your first time or you frequent it a...

The restaurant was very unique and pleasant. The server(chance) was very rude. I ordered a chicken melt. This was my first experience tasting a chicken melt, it was soggy so I was going to take it home to my grand dog. She looks forward to our doggie bags. Chance asked how everything was and I told him great but I didn't like the sandwich. Before I could say another word he snatched up the plate and discarded it in trash. The he proceede to the grill and told them well you can't please everybody. He printed out our receipt and put it on the table. We were having a lovely meal and he ruined it with his nasty attitude. I also saw a beautiful cake on menu in which I was going to have a slice. Well thanks to chance I didn't. I have work in the food service business and I never would've given such lousy service. I asked for manager and he said he was the manager. I hope he was lying because he should not be working...

We live in Columbus and since it was a Federal holiday we were off work and wanted to go out for breakfast. We have been everywhere nearby, even the Calloway General Store but somehow missed this gem. We took the short drive to Cafe 431 and LOVED it! We were lucky enough to have Chance for our server (I had heard of him thru Trip Advisor) and he was amazing. Once he learned it was our first time he pulled out a chair at the table next to us and gave us the menu tour, super helpful. Chance was extremely friendly, provided outstanding service, had great recommendations for first timers, checked on us throughout our meal, and wished a great rest of our day as we left. The food was delicious ( and quick) and just as we ordered it which was not exactly as offered on the menu but Chance hooked us up. I highly recommend Cafe 431 and do try and get Chance as your server, it will make a great meal...
