I found this place by searching for “Black owned vegetarian restaurants” in the city. I’m so glad I found it. Although I’m not vegetarian, this restaurant also recently incorporated pescatarian options (according the website) into the well curated menu already providing a plethora of mouth watering options. Pescatarian options was exactly what I was hoping for. Vegan•ish restaurant is in an easily accessible location near the Parkside section of West Philly. This restaurant has a rich look although nestled in an urban part of the city. Vegan•ish has a clean and modern style to it and the walls pay homage to some of the greatest icons from the sport and entertainment industries, lined with beautiful paintings throughout the restaurant. We popped in for lunch- the hostess was friendly, professional and added to the already warm feel that came as soon as we walked in. After much deliberating, we decided on the buffalo cauliflower, side of fries, creole shrimp burger and a crab cake sandwich. My friend and myself were both very pleased with our choices. The buffalo Cauliflower is a must have item. It was perfect! And made me feel as if I was eating actual buffalo chicken bites! Vegan•ish has a new Patron, and it’s me! Wishing this place the best of luck! See you...
Read moreWould not recommend. This place was recommended to me by a friend while I was visiting Philly and the food was okay, but we also ordered 2 shakes that they were not able to fulfill on our order. I'm not sure why, they just said they didn't have shakes that night but also said they cannot refund the order.
We ordered pickup through Postmates. I've contacted postmates 4 different times via 4 different avenues and they all state it is the restaurant's responsibility to process the refund.
It has now been nearly a month and I have been calling veganish weekly to check the status of this. Initially I met a nice employee who was trying to help and process it. Today I called and got a very rude employee who said "I can't really help you there's nothing I can do". He gave me the number to "the owner". I called that number and it is out of service.
I am extremely stressed financially right now, and wanted to support this business while in Philly for an emergency situation and the only thing I got out of it was losing money and time for nothing. I guess go here if you want to pay for okay vegan food and also pay for items you never receive with no option...
Read moreIt's vegan junk food! I was hoping that this place would be a bit closer to "healthy" but that's my bad, that's not really what they are after. This place makes some fill-you-up but not great for you food that also happens to be vegan. We got the chicken cheesesteak, samosa burger, buffalo cauliflower, and brussel sprouts. I'll start by saying that the buffalo cauliflower is awesome, some of the best in Philly. The samosa burger was fine for what it was and was pretty tasty but the bun it was on was a lot of bread and it took away from the burger a bit. The Brussel sprouts were a disappointment, they were soggy and soaked in oil and als generally not that well seasoned. Bummer, lesson learned. The chicken cheesesteak was interesting, they put long hots on it and my wife thought that it was so spicy that she didn't want to finish eating it. I had some and thought it wasn't that bad, but it was weirdly spicy. It detracted a bit from the sandwich. Overall, I might give it another shot if I am in the mood for this kind of thing. It's fast food quality food, but made with a slow...
