I don't know where to start. It should have been a red flag for me when I read the reviews, but I decided to go anyway to see for myself. My friends and I went to the trap brunch. The dj was good, but he didn't interact with the customers like we saw in previous videos on ig (this was the reason for us going). There was someone selling hookah for $40. They charge a entry fee of $20 which include 1 mimosa, not bottomless like most brunch spots. Our waitress was nice but she gave us forks and just put them on the table (please see photo below). If this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant why give the forks out the way she did. The bathroom was nasty and dirty ( I don't have pix bc I left my phone on the table). Finally, our food comes out. I ordered shrimp and grits and it was super salty. One of my friends ordered the chicken and waffles, that was very good. There were kids there with their moyhers. The kids had to be no older than 5. The waitresses were twerking and the music was explicit. One of the mothers tried to cover her childs eyes and he moved her hand. Those kid should not have been there. This should have been explained to them upon arrival. Needless to say I won't be back and I will not be referring anyone else to go there. This place is ghetto trash🗑.

Celebrated a 30th birthday here on a Saturday. The restaurant is located on a busy street in West Philly and there is only street parking available. The inside of the restaurant is minimally decorated but looks cute. There is limited seating but there seems to be a lounge area upstairs. The menu prices are reasonable (entrees ranged between $15-$40) We had a party of 13 people and the restaurant/ staff were accommodating. The menu is not big but has good food selections. I ordered the whiting w/ 2 sides (Mac n cheese and greens). The whiting and Mac n cheese were delicious but the greens were salty. My friend said the salmon entree was tasty and so was the the chicken and waffles. Overall a decent experience but one suggestion is the place needs a deep cleaning as the seating chairs and menus were not clean.

The food was very nasty. The whole platter lacked salt itself. Fish was very dry and TASTELESS. Yams taste like they were placed in the microwave and called it a day. The Mac and cheese was absolutely dry and disgusting. The whole platter was made with no effort and it has been like this for a while now. I’m not sure what happened because the food used to be good, and I’m also hearing bad things from friends too. The staff that work here are extremely rude. Prior to ordering my food, the girl at the register finished licking her fingers before touching everything (as if we’re not currently in a pandemic). Food and service is EXTREMELY HORRIBLE. Going to save my money and drive and go to Thomasenas nearby :)

unfortunately my family and i were not happy with our experience at this restaurant. We chose this restaurant to host a surprise dinner and it was pretty much a disaster. From the top... it took so long for our guests to get seated that the surprise was ruined. Next, it took 1.5 hours after being seated for our appetizers and drinks to come out! An hour...just for everyone to receive a glass of juice. WOW! We received our bread, they had no small plates to accommodate the table with so we had to eat them on napkins. Oh they also ran out of silverware. Our actual food didn't come until 2.5-3 hours after we were seated. In the midst of this my family was enjoying each others company so everyone waited patiently with no complaints the entire time. i got corn for an appetizer, the sauce that accompanies it was very cold. THE ENTIRE TABLE OF ENTRE'S CAME OUT COLD! A few people sent their food back in effort to get a plate back with hot food! Mac and cheese to be exact. It was so bad not even one person from our party of 15 ate their food at the table. Between the wait and the temperature of the food THE ENTIRE TABLE HAD TO-GO CONTAINERS FULL OF FOOD! When i spoke with the waitress while ordering my food, i told her I didn't want the vegetable I ordered unless it had the meat (turkey) in it. My food came out with no turkey. Meanwhile nobody's complaining and i just knew we would be accommodated with something for our troubles; the waitress was apologizing for numerous things (including the fact they overbooked) the whole night so I patiently waited to speak on our behalf at the end of the dinner. The check comes and i ask the waitress to speak to manager in reference to maybe discounting the bill because the service was beyond horrible. Needless to say, i eat at 4-5 star restaurants pretty frequently. I'm always looking forward to spending money on good food and letting the world know in hopes that more people will support and gain an enjoyable experience as well! The waitress came back ....not even the manager!!....and stated that because nobody sent their food back she could not discount the bill just because of the wait. In addition to, the fact that we added 1 extra person to our reservation was the reason the food took so long to come out. Soooo I guess the fact that several people sent their food back because it was cold didn't account for anything because they received hot food in place of it. or the fact that no one even had a chance to eat their food because it was cold and came out 3 hours after we seated didnt either. No utensils, no plates, a number of food off the menu unavailable, things missing from the order! Wow! i wish I could even say it was busy but both tables that were filled prior to our arrival left an hour and some before we even got our food! All of which could of been forgotten about had we received anything in return! Didn't even have to be money off the bill! Oh we did get a free slice of cake for the birthday person....mmmn but that happens at a lot of places ...without having to get bad service so I'm not satisfied with just that! Our reservation was at 7:30...we didnt leave until 11:30-12. The wait even caused me to have to call out of work. The bill was messed up and one person got a free meal. I may have left something else out. I'm tired of ranting at this point. I really wish i could have said better things because I was excited to support someone that I could relate to ....but...

First time I went there and absolutely terrible experience!! Went to this restaurant on a Wednesday evening, with a girlfriend for seafood. Once arrived, there was not much of a wait, but no one was immediately there to greet or seat us. Once seated we were informed that the restaurant was out of alaskan crabs and we were only able to order “The Baller” (2 dungeness, 2 alaskan, shrimp, mussels, potatoes, corn, sausage & eggs) $49, compared to what we came in for which was $30 and the alaskan. Our waitress informed us that we could replace the 2 alaskan with 1 more dungeness, more mussels or more shrimp. I ordered another dungeness and my girlfriend ordered more shrimp. I ordered a drink with Hennessey called Gold Digger and my girlfriend ordered a drink as well. Waitress took our menus and walked away. Waitress immediately returned to inform me that I could not order another dungeness because they needed to ration them for other customers. This immediately annoyed me because our waitress knew nothing about what the restaurant had or did not have. Upon ordering our drinks we also ordered a hookah, which took extremely long. Once we received our food, the sauce was EXTREMELY SALTY and the shrimp were overcooked and I had 1 slice of a sausage in my bag. LITERALLY, ONE SLICE OF SAUSAGE CUT OFF (A PIECE). We decided against the hookah as it had taken an extremely long time and we were eating. During us eating, our waitress rarely checked on us, we never received utensils and had to ask for napkins. Once done eating, I decided to order another Gold Digger and my girlfriend ordered and iced tea the waitress stated she would get it and left the table. Waitress returned with iced tea and stated that the restaurant was out of Hennessy. She did not offer any replacements and my girlfriend asked what other brown liquors did the restaurant have. The waitress stated D’usse. I asked if the waitress could make my drink Gold Digger with the D’usse, she stated she could for an up charge. Since we ordered more drinks and were done eating we decided to order the hookah again. Once hookah arrived it was burnt. It immediately burned our throats and we were unable to enjoy it. We asked for the check and the waitress returned. When we seen our bill, we could not believe it. Our bill was $224!!!!!! Which included 2 $49 we had to order because the restaurant was out of alaskan, our drinks, $19 charge for D’usse because the restaurant ran out of Hennessy, and a $35 service charge (gratuity) already included for someone who did absolutely nothing. Not to mention, my girlfriend’s tea was that tea mix from Save-a-Lot . YALL KNOW THE TEA MIX! Will never return, this is why I can’t support black owned, they do us so wrong. The owner...

Its saddens me to have to write this(especially by me being a big supporter of black owned business). I've been hearing mixed reviews about this location for some time now but never tried them out(because I'm so use to another soul food place that I go to) but my first visit to this location was may 19th and 4pm. I called my order in about 3:45, so I got there at 4. Get there it was so much unorganized behind the line with platters every where.(to the point where the lady who was taking orders stop taking walk in/calls for a few mins just to organize the orders that needed to be sent out. Once they did that and realize that the other young lady who actually was taking phone orders didnt out mine in, and that my food would be a 40min wait. I kindly said no thank you and walked out. Now today(my 2nd visit) may23rd- 12:45. I walk in instead of calling. Mind you you can tell it was a lite lumch, there were three people waiting to pick up, two in front of me, the phone was ringing non stop, and only one worker doing everything.(which his attitude wasn't the best) I'm gonna blame that on he was overwhelmed. So I order my food,he told me 20mins(which in my mind I knew that wasn't the case, especially since it was just him in the store doing everything). So at this point 20 mins turns into almost a hour. But this time I already had it in my mind that I will except the food, but will not be returning). So me being me I always check my food and bag before I walk out of anywhere. And as I get to the cabbage I got- when I tell you that cabbage looked so old and brown I wouldn't have given it to my worse person I know. So I kind asked him could I switch the cabbage out with greens instead,he got a instant attitude and had a whole bunch to say (under his breath). So when he walked back over to me with the greens I kindly took the lid back off the cabbage and said to him "now you know your dead wrong for tryna pass me off something that looks like this. He just looked as if he agreed but didn't say anything. And just walked away. To be honest I really should've asked for my money back, but I didnt want to make either my day worse nor his. But I say all of this to say I am highly disappointed in this location.I'm not even excited to get home and dig in at this point. One thing I don't play about is my money and where I spend it. And the way I feel about good quality food is on that same level.I'm sure my 20.00 meal won't make nor break them but I definitely won't be recommending that location to anyone. 😖 (I'll stick to "crafty soul & haverford soul&grill) for now on like I...
