Delancey Street Pizzeria — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I've been going to this place for years.

Well, I no longer live around this area, but I called to place an order for food as my son was in the area and needed someting to eat. He didn't have any cash on him, and I was far away, so I was only able to pay using my debit which was on me. They wouldn't let me place the order because they couldn't verify that I was actually the card holder/owner, and essentially they insisted on following the rules. Although I had to order online from somewhere else for my son, I'm glad to know that they do things right. I'll continue to order from them when I'm in the area, and no I was not pissed for them protecting my "whatever." Oh, and BTW, they have good food too.

Food for thought - get your online ordering set up. It makes life easier at times. It's better to have it and not need it vs. needing it and...

Pizza was delicious but my half sausage, half plain large pizza plus a 2 litre Pepsi cost me $25. That included delivery and tip. Problem is the next day I got a large pizza with sausage, mushroom, onion and peppers came to $15 with delivery and tip from a different place. They even substituted sausage for pepperoni to make the pizza cheaper. Here's where it's gets ugly. The pizza box on the left was my supposedly large pizza from Delancey and the box on the right was from large pizza from the other place. See a big difference? The large very expensive half sausage, half plain was not a large 16inch pizza but a 14inch medium pizza from Dalancey!!! The pizza on the right was a real 16inch large pizza! What a rip off of price and size!!! Beware of rip off delivery prices and medium not...

If I could give a zero star I would. I ordered from Grubhub and placed a simple order. When the driver came my order was not complete. The Grubhub offered to return to the store, which they don't usually do. I didn't hear anything back so I called the store, was placed on hold for over 20 minutes. I sent my husband to the store to see if he could get some answers about my order. The man was so nasty to him and tried to tell me that I didn't order what I said then in the same breathe said he refunded the rest of my order. Needless to say I work too hard for my money to be called a lier and the food we did receive was horrible. They will not be getting any more...
