Hunan Palace — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Hunan Palace is take out only. That doesn't bother us at all. This was our first visit. The food here is much better than our former Chinese restaurant. We ordered a variety of items; springrolls, general tso chicken, beef and broccoli, bbq spare ribs, chicken on a stick, vegetable lo mein. We felt the springrolls could have used a little more flavor but that's just our opinion. Every other dish was excellent. Plenty of sauce on all the dishes. The spare ribs were tender and moist not dry or stringy as they can be from other restaurants. Their chicken on a stick is prepared differently than I had ever had it. It had a light coating on it. No dried out, leathery chicken here! We will definitely be making Hunan Palace our regular...

This Chinese Store has pretty good food to be a neighborhood restaurant. The store is clean, never trashy, floor always swept, table always wiped. They have one table in the store that seats four people in case you want to eat in. They have a couple of chairs for you to sit in while you're waiting for your order. The people that work there are friendly, and always speak to you. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but the items I do purchase are good.( Chicken Wings) Rice and Gravy, Shrimp Toast, Shrimp Egg Foo Young, French Fries, Shrimp...

I ordered a large pepper steak. It was ready in under 5 minutes -- there was only 1 other person than me ordering at the time. The area where you order is also the area where you can eat-in as there is 1 table and some chairs. That area isn't air-conditioned or climate-controlled and isn't very large. This business is partnered with a laundromat which is air-conditioned & there is a door where you can pass from one place to the other in the wall joining...
