As someone who’s half Korean and half Mexican, I’ve always been a little skeptical about Korean-Mexican fusion, especially since I grew up with these cuisines served separately. I’ve tried a few K-Mex spots in LA and NYC and always felt let down. But Korea Taqueria completely changed my perspective. This place is innovative, authentic, and truly sets the standard for K-Mex fusion. My absolute favorites on the menu are the gochujang al pastor and the beef and shrimp birria tacos, both are bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. I’m also impressed by the quality of the food, service, and vibe of the new Fishtown location. It’s on a charming cobblestone street overlooking a skate park and a basketball court. Perfect spot to enjoy amazing food and people-watch.

Highly highly recommend Korea Taqueria if you’re curious about K-Mex...

Atmosphere and service were great, small place and friendly staff. Was looking forward to the food and unfortunately disappointed. Ordered guac and chips - the guac tasted straight out of a Sabra container and the chips needed salt. Ordered the birria shrimp tacos - the shrimp was just not fresh at all. I would have been really content with the tacos if the shrimp didn't have a pungent aftertaste. I wanted this place to thrive and still do but it needs work.

EDIT - The restaurant reached out to discuss my concerns with my order and offered a remake. I was content with how responsive they were and took them up on their offer. The shrimp was much better in the reorder and I thoroughly enjoyed. I still stand by my thoughts on the guacamole and chips. Overall, the food is...

The menu is misleading. It clearly lists a “Classic Burrito (1 protein, 2 sauces)” for $12 — so I reasonably expected that to include the protein. Instead, they tacked on another $3 just for grilled chicken. That puts the total at $15, which is not what’s advertised.

I politely asked the girl at the counter about the price discrepancy, and she became visibly frustrated. It was clear she’s had to explain this exact issue to multiple customers before and is completely fed up with it. I don’t blame her — I blame the management for creating a menu that sets staff up for daily conflict.

This isn’t a small misunderstanding — it’s a poorly designed menu at best, or a bait-and-switch tactic at worst. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth (and not...

While I do think their Meal for 1 is a good deal, I found it to be practically inedible. It comes with a drink- which was a watery horchata. 2 Tacos, Wings, and I chose a side of chips and guac. I found everything to be bland or watery, including the salsas, the consommé, the guac, and the horchata. The wings were soggy and the I peeled the breading off. I did find that the Korean part of the fusion seemed to be making the taco meat sweeter, but it was off putting with no taste in the consommé. I didn’t enjoy the meal enough to finish it.

We had the Korea Taqueria food cart cater a birthday party for us and it did not disappoint! They started off with sliders, wings, and chips and salsa for an appetizer. Most of the guests assumed that that was all we were getting but then they rolled out cheesesteaks and two different types of tacos! Everything they served was top notch. They went above and beyond in every way possible. Alex and Andrew were very fantastic and accommodating. I will be recommending korea taqueria to everyone I know!
