Momma Mia’s Pizzeria — Restaurant in Philadelphia

The experience I had with Momma Mia's Pizzeria was average. Rich on the phone was very accommodating and pleasant with my questions and changes in my order as I was ordering my food. I came into the restaurant to grab my order, I was greeted by the staff and given my food. I noticed sanitary precautions were taken by the front house staff by wearing masks and providing hand sanitizer but I did note that a male near the kitchen was not wearing a mask (I don't know if I just caught him while on a break and not making food or anything, just wanted to make a note). I ordered fried cheese raviolis, square pizza (half Momma Mia's Pie and half Upside Down), and cannolis. The fried cheese raviolis had (8) pieces and were cooked to near perfection with great taste (maybe frozen but high quality frozen raviolis or hand made raviolis). The square pizza was just okay and not great for the price. As the pizza sauce was a bit salter than expected and not unique from the many pizzerias in the area. The cannolis were good, seemed like store bought, rather than home made as expected for the very small quality given the cost (front house staff forgot to give me my cannolis so I had to drive back to get them). Overall, I think Momma Mia's Pizzeria is on-par with the pizza shops in the NE Philadelphia area. We have enjoyed Momma Mia’s for quite a while now. We missed them during the pandemic & we were glad to see them re-open.

Last night we ordered for my wife’s birthday. We’re on a fixed income (disability) & don’t order often. Our food arrived with 2 small hiccups. The staff were kind. And quick to fix the problem. Which made us happy to no end given how this kind of positivity isn’t always seen today. It’s nice to know, a relief actually, that people still care about their customers.

And so after eating, hopefully before they got too busy, we called to thank them & rave on how delicious (as always) their food is.

Best pizza. Decided to dine in this time. Had the Philly Philly pizza and it was just as delicious as the rest of their pies we tried. Crust was crispy and was seasoned perfectly. Pizza is not heavy like most others. Everyone that works there is super nice and pleasant, you get a nice welcome when walking in the door and asked how everything was when you were leaving and are thanked for coming in. It’s sad but that is not the case in most places. (I think) the owner brought our pie to our table and just as pleasant as his employees. Place is spotless and decorated with pizza cook books on the tables, nice touch. only wish they were opened later since we tend to eat on the later side sometimes.
