Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Philadelphia

The water ice is great n so is the staff!! I would have gave it 5 stars but usually they run out of many flavors! I couldn’t even get a FULL Gallon of Pineapple, n this was w/in a few hours of the store opening . ALSO, a TASTIER n MORE VARIED menu of ‘SUGAR FREE’ WATER ICE would b Great!! Frequently, my husband is @ Rita’s in the Port Richmond Village. He is a very good customer!!! I believe Rita’s should have some kind of CUSTOMER LOYALTY REWARD PROGRAM That INCLUDES the GALLON BUCKETS!! For example, buy 3 gallon buckets, n receive a voucher for a complimentary gallon or quart bucket. Or have a lil Rita’s card paper-punched each time u buy a big bucket, after 10 holes u get a comp gallon. Use a different...

$6.50 for a large cone of vanilla "custard" that is sadly identical in taste/quality to that offered at IKEA, MacDonald's or your favorite Chinese buffet. The last time I had one (a couple years ago at a different Rita's) the "custard" was actually custard and it was delicious. Maybe they're pinching because of the cost of ingredients? Dissapointing anyhow. The staff is on the miserable side, but given that each customer here spent on 15 minutes bugging them about who knows what, I kind of get it.

Helpful tip: There is no difference in size between the small and large sizes, so don't be a sucker like me and pay...

Customer service was good. Pretty busy.

I took 2 stars away for having limited number of flavors compared to other locations, they gave me the wrong flavor of water ice in my gelati, and there were some people trying to look cool by playing obnoxious music in their cars with all of the doors open to make it as loud as possible and blasting out the people and families waiting in line.

Back here again 2 weeks later and its closed on Sat afternoon. Orange plastic barricades blocking the doors and windows. Trash all over the parking lot.
