I will premise by stating I have been a Ritz dining customer since they first opened here and have frequented them often with friends and family. I rarely, if ever, have had issues with food and have. Ever had a service issue until today. Today our server, Briana (the manager on duty gave me this name of our server), was inattentive, rude, and very much disinterested in serving our table. We are not needy or boisterous diners. We just want to order and be checked on. “Briana” provided our drink order and my mother asked for Splenda as ours was out at the table. She never returned with it after 10 minutes so we asked a nearby buss boy (no biggie). When she returned with our soup some time later, my mother informed her that she got Splenda from someone else and didn’t need it just in case she remembered. “Briana” just said “oh ok.” Still no biggie but didn’t offer an apology. Fast forward about 2 minutes later our food arrives and “Briana” looks at me annoyed like I’m in the way of her putting down the food. Still no biggie. She places the wrong food in front of me so k ask who ordered it to give it to them, it’s my mothers food. My mom states, she ordered scrapple not Turkey sausage. “Briana” then states, “ok well I need the sausage back” as though she was annoyed at us for her mistake and again, no apology. My mom forks it off her plate onto a soup saucer and then I tell her”Briana” that my son has pork bacon on his plate and we don’t eat pork (religious). She just looks at me annoyed again and I pick it up and hand it to my other son who does eat pork. I didn’t even want her to send the plate back and have my 4 year old have a melt down. Again however, no apology. She then leaves our table and does not check on us one time. Despite walking past us several times, she still did not ask if we needed anything or if we even needed boxes. We sat for about 35 minutes before I started looking around the room to see if she was just overwhelmed or if it was us. To my surprise, the table adjacent to us (Caucasian family) was being serviced by “Briana” and in 8 minutes I watched her pre buss their soup bowls (which were empty) meaning they received their soup and had time to eat and enjoy it before their meal rushed out, bring their food, and asked them twice after delivery if they were ok and needed anything. During this time, I observed a larger party (African American) raise their hands as she was catering to the other table. When “Briana” walked over I heard the woman say to her that she was frustrated from waiting so long and just wanted to order for the little children she had with her as they were hungry. This table walked in before the Caucasian family and clearly still did not have their order taken while this other party were fully served and checked on repeatedly. I them kept watching “Briana” to see if perhaps she had other tables and she did not, just us three and the only table being serviced was the table that walked in last. After walking directly past our table for the second time following this and not even so much as looking at us, I asked another server for the manager. I recounted to the manager what had transpired while “Briana” listened behind me (I even called Briana over to hear the feedback). She became defensive and called the other table with the African Americans her other “needy table” which I found highly offensive considering neither of us were and they had just placed their order after being ignored and the only thing we asked for and did not receive from her was Splenda. She was defensive and still unapologetic and just plain rude so she walked away. I will be following up with the owner and her attitude and lack of service and professionalism makes me question if I will return. I have never been somewhere with bad service and not tipped except for twice and today made thr second time. I understand the nature of the service industry and believe in tipping 20 percent no matter what. “Briana” didn’t get a dime from me and my only advice to her is to not work in the service...
Read moreJuly 2025 update: The past few times I've been here with family, my dining experiences have not been very pleasant. The owner/ manager is unpleasant and he's very unfriendly towards his valued customers. The waitress acted as though she was doing us a favor by taking our orders and serving us. That is the job of a waitstaff member, to provide exceptional quality customer service and make the dining experience a pleasant one. She couldn't wait to drop off the check at our table and when asked for another cup of hot tea, she replied, another one! I replied, yes please. In other words, she wanted to drop off our check and be done with us completely. That's not great service! I'm not going to patronize a restaurant or any other business in that matter, who doesn't appreciate and value me as a customer! Nobody should tolerate this type of abuse from a business who earns a living from their customers. To the owner/manager, as a consumer we have many options of who to conduct business with and if we are treated inappropriately, we won't be back again and you'll lose lots of business. I've had this unpleasant experience several times before updating this review, but felt it was now time to let you know how we've been treated. Lesson learned, treat others how you would like to be treated yourself, or suffer the consequences for your actions. Additionally, they do-not support the US Military and do-not offer Senior Citizen discounts. Which are both appalling and disgraceful behavior from a local family owned business. Have a Blessed day.....
2024: I highly recommend this diner. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to your needs. The food is tasty and deliciously prepared. The cashier was also friendly, upon paying for the meal. Many of the customers are regulars and are treated wonderfully by the staff. I seldom write 5-star 🌟 reviews, but feel based on my experience, they have earned it! The restaurant is very clean, including the restroom area. Thank you for surpassing my expectations. Have a...
Read moreA friend and I had lunch here yesterday, only because I didn't feel like driving to our first choice which was located in Montgomery County. BIG MISTAKE! Our waitress seemed to be preoccupied from the very beginning. We both ordered a cold beverage, along with a burger which came with a cup of soup, fries, Coleslaw and a pickle. Well my friends soup came first, my soup finally arrived about 12 minutes later. When our burgers were brought to the table, the waitress just sat the dish in front of me without explanation. In trying to check for the fried onions I requested on my burger, I had to turn the plate around. Luckily, I didn't grab the plate with my whole hand since it was extremely hot and I would have sustain quite a burn. Mind you, the waitress never offered a word of caution or warning to either of us that the plates were hot. Since she had already walked away, it took about 5 minutes before I could get her attention to make a second request for my fried onions which should had been on my burger. The unsalted, dry fries were room temperature, and the pickle had been plunked down on top of the little container with the Coleslaw. Mind you after all of this, our beverages still had not been brought to our table. Nevertheless, once I received the check, I still left an appropriate tip. Had that been it, I could have skipped this little saga. However, after paying the bill, we're walking the short distance from the exit to the car. As I'm reaching to put my cane in the car, this person wearing an apron with what looks like a receipt runs over to me saying there was a problem. She says we didn't pay for the soda and lemonade/tea drinks. I gave her the additional amount to cover the 2 beverages, but I also let her know that her waitress gave me what I thought was the check for our complete meal. This last scene just made me realize that some establishments are better than others. Driving away, my last thought was they should change their name because, baby, THIS...
