Uptown Cafe — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Nice update to the place. People are friendly, the staff is rude and the owners never address any of the issues. Bartender Tara likes to charge you for double shots when you don’t order them. My bill was so high and I asked why she told me she gave me double shots. I told her I didn’t ask for a double. She refused to take it off of my bill. When there another time she did the same thing. I complained to one of the owners and he looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. I went there another time and the cook threaten some lady and her daughter or sister. Used to be a vibe, I used to love it here. Went last night for my cousins bday & the bartenders didn’t acknowledge us right away they had friends there & were just leaning on the bar chatting with them & not catering to everyone at the bar with any since of urgency. Didn’t really feel welcomed, they were giving hated vibes which I’m not used to when being there. Luckily we curated our own vibe at our end of the bar & made the best of it.

Upstairs I was charged for double shots when I asked for singles… I’m out $24 but whatever.

My cousin didn’t like her food so that also seems to have went downhill.

All in all it’s just not as inviting as it used to be so I probably won’t be back & that sucks. 2 stars for it being...

Bartender created great drinks, however she created (3) Crown Royal cocktail drinks and didn't communicate to me that each drink was a double shot for each. Usually bartenders follow a recipe or at least ask if you want a double etc. The bill for 3 drinks and my fiance's drink was over $75.00 The bill was not much of an issue it was just the principal that we never had a bartender not give us the heads up of the shots that she was incorporating...
