Avenue Brew — Restaurant in Phoenix

I stopped this coffee shop (if that's what is actually is) this morning after noticing it last night. Inside, there were buffet-style serving dishes and a crowd of people. Down the way, I spotted a sign for someone's birthday and assumed the place was closed for a private event. However, my husband noticed the Avenue Brew door was unlocked, so he went in and stood in line.

I reluctantly followed, only to realize it was a private party. Every single person stared at us like we'd brought a farm animal into the room. It was incredibly awkward, so we left.

There was no clear signage indicating whether the coffee bar was open to the public, and I had no idea the shop was connected to a children's play area. The setup made no sense, and the lack of clarity turned what should have been a quick coffee run into an uncomfortable experience. Oh My Goodness!!! The most beautiful, chic and elegant café I've been to! I really loved the space, it was clean and beautiful, created by the person with a great taste 👌🏼hands down! The best part about this café that they have a legit selection for children to play. The play area has plenty toys and entertainment for kids, while mom's can enjoy their coffee in peace and not worry about their kids. As a parent having the option to just let anyone off the street to come into a kids indoor play establishment to grab coffee or hang out is very unsettling. How do you know some creep isn't just coming in for “coffee” and watching the kiddos. Most kid places will not allow anyone in the building without a kiddo themselves for this reason. Great idea for the parents who are doing playtime with their kiddos. Horrible business model to allow just anyone in to get a coffee where kids go to play.
