This was our family's first time eating food from Dragon Palace. We ordered take out. On the positive side, the order was correct and ready sooner than expected. Additionally, we ordered some shrimp to be added to the shrimp fried rice (per menu, costs extra to add "meat") and they included a number of fairly large, juicy shrimp. The fried rice overall was a 3-4/5. It was a bit drier than fried rice that I would consider really great.
Additionally, our entrees did include white rice...we were unsure if this would be included as it could not be ordered separately from the online menu but entrees had no descriptions to say if rice was included.
Unfortunately, the above are the only positive comments. My son's sesame shrimp was too sweet, heavily breaded with a small amount of meat, and tasted like it was re-cooked in a fryer or reheated a second time. My husband's General Tso's chicken was NOT spicy at all (listed on the menu as spicy) and was also heavily breaded and tasted sweet and soggy. I ordered the Crispy Duck. I love duck in general but have never ordered this Chinese dish before. It was a generous portion, but very tough. The flavor was also kind of gamey.
The last comment that I will make is that it can be really difficult to order here if you have any food allergies. I don't expect restaurants to give an extensive lists of ingredients if they are concerned about giving out "trade secrets"; however, including any major allergens in the item description would be helpful. Outside of the names of dishes that included almond or sesame, I had to guess at all other major allergens.
We were really hoping to find our "go to" place for Chinese food in Phoenix. Guess we will...
Read moreOrdered the “highly recommended” Shrimp Bo Bo and it was more like Shrimp NO NO! We also ordered General Tso chicken, egg rolls, crab puffs, and broccoli chicken my advice is to skip this place all together! I will not ever eat here again ever. The breading on the shrimp and chicken was soggy and inedible. It appeared to have been pre cooked possibly this morning and refried to finish it off before slathering it in thick sticky poorly made sauces. The broccoli was dark and soggy as the chicken with broccoli sauce was watery and thin with the flavor of a bouillon cube reduced with some water and corn starch. I can tell you the generals was the worst I’ve tried ever and I mean even frozen meal would ha been a solid 10 before this place! Last I want to mention the egg rolls, sad as this is for me to say this was the first thing I tried. I break it open and it was like brown outside layer and raw stretchy dough for the remainder of the wrapper which Was very disturbing but then I bite in to this undercooked starter to begin the worst meal in my life. Guess what it tasted like? Come on just one guess? I bet ya can’t figure it out! Cinnamon!!!!! I’m not kidding! I was literally floored and confused by who on this earth would EVER think cinnamon would be ok paired with egg roll? It’s cabbage for goodness sakes! Save your money and your appetite and keep going when you are considering this place! This got one star only because it makes you give one to write the review! I wouldn’t have given any actually I would give negative 👎🍛🥡🤢🤮🚑🏨. NEGATIVE 5 STARS...
Read moreWe ordered food to go through Google / Menufy.com and it was super easy to use. Picked up food about 20 minutes later and hot and delish by the time I got home. I didn’t take any pics but the food is great. We got Beef Chow Mein (lo mein noodles) and the beef was perfect and tender, seasoned well. What I wanted when I think “Chinese take out.” The crab puff things are great and the bf got chicken fried rice and he said “I would order it again.” So there you go. This was a Saturday night. They also threw in a free side of rice (accident, or maybe it came with a meal?) anyway, appreciated that. Also they gave us a baggy of fortune cookies, almond cookies, all the sauces and napkins. It was everything you needed. This place is in a strip mall that didn’t make it through COVID so it seems a little sus. But they’re in the corner and please eat here and support a local business! It’s very good! (Oh portions...
