If I could rate 10 stars I would! Iâm beyond impressed! I used to frequent Starbucks but left to find a coffee shop that values people not just profit. BlackRock is WAY better! A home runâs difference knocking it outta the park. A little farther commute but well worth it! Things I loved: Greeted friendly with a smile. Well crafted drinks & food. Good indoor temperature comfortable to sit in. All different music genres played so everyone can enjoy it. First I heard rock, then hiphop, seems groovy, I shazamed some songs I havenât heard in a while felt nostalgic. Thereâs indoor & outdoor seating. Clean bathroom. Pleasant aromas. Really went above & beyond & out of their way; Helped build my drink & walk through setting up my rewards app. Felt at home rather than out of place in a new place. Willingness to accommodate & find perfect drink. Patience & knowledge; canât find a way make one, even when helping others they still acknowledged I was there & would be back to helping me if I needed it, valuing both guests & spreading attention equally & appropriately. COMFY couches (I have big hips so the tan chairs make it comfortable to work & able to focus beyond ouch.) It is refreshing a company that doesnât sweat the little things & is willing to give water (coffee dehydrates you) & cares about your experience & well being! I didnât know what to expect & they surpassed beyond what I could have ever dreamed! My experience(excellent btw): The staff is friendly, accommodated perfectly my dietary restrictions, & even looked at labels to see if they had anything I couldnât have, I was valued & cared for not only as a number & dollar sign but as a human being. I felt loved which is not typical of businesses that take a number & shove you out the door as fast as they can. Feels good! I was first helped by a gentleman but when he couldnât answer my questions he found someone who could. She helped me set up my BR rewards & answered questions I didnât understand so I could start using the rewards & was understanding with how new I am. She was very patient & kind. She & he helped cater an order that I could actually enjoy even being so limited in my diet for health reasons. The next time I came in (second visit) the gentleman remembered me & my order & asked if it worked for me & how I had liked it, (he wasnât even the barista taking my order)I was shocked he remembered me with all the people in and out. She also answered questions & was very helpful. The baristas help each other out which is nice to see the gentleman informed her they were out of bacon for my sandwich but I got the sausage sandwich & it was very good. I normally donât care for sausage but how itâs made here is so fresh & delicious & I especially liked that the cheese wasnât melted all over the foil, thatâs a win! The sandwich wasnât a price gouge either so that was comforting even with the inflation. They called my name & my order was completed VERY fast & quality wasnât sacrificed for speed either. Done fast & done right I honestly didnât expect it to be so quick, yet again any expectations are always exceeded here, never ceasing to amaze & impress me.
This is now my favorite coffee place after only 2 visits! I will definitely be back frequently & stay a consistent guest because I am treated very well! It smells great inside & out, staff is great, nice music but not too loud I canât focus on work. Itâs so comfy to enjoy well crafted drinks & food. My only complaint would be crumbs on all tables but thatâs to be expected with high traffic I donât mind grabbing a napkin and cleaning off before I sit down, no place is perfect. I know they get to it when it slows down I saw a staff member sweeping by me my first visit. :) this place regardless is A-H-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I initially considered going through the drive-thru, but I changed my mind and went inside. When I entered, they were taking the lady in front of meâs payment. After she was done, they started making her drink, which I didnât mind since I had a little time to spare and it wasnât busy.I waited about 8 minutes before someone came to help me. Three people told me they would be right with me, but it took some time before anyone actually took my order. I ordered a chocolate chip shake for my 7 year old daughter and a blonde with expresso for myself. After about 25 minutes, I approached someone and asked what was going on the lady said the expresso isnât pulling so I said okay cancel the expresso drink I will just take my daughter shake She said okay, then proceeded to ask the lady behind her to start making the chocolate chip shake. Keep in mind, I had already been waiting for almost 30 minutes, and they told me they had already started the drinks. However, that was a lie because she asked the lady behind me to start making the shake, and the lady responded that she couldnât right now because she was working drive-thru.so I had to cancel the order because I had to drop my daughter off at daycare and be at work by 7 my daughter started crying. The staff didnât apologize all they said was the espresso isnât pulling,â which is understandable. However they could have let me know in advance or they couldâve made my daughter shake she wasnât getting coffee I felt they could have at least made her shake despite them having problems making my drink I waited for about 30 minutes and left with nothing, which was overwhelming, especially since I had to calm my crying daughter. I have been enjoying Black Rock since it opening in this area and also annoyed it when I lived in Mesa. Lately I have had lots of issues with my order not being correct which I attributed to the times and didn't think too much of it. This week was the last straw for me. I went in to order because the drive-thru was wrapped around the building. There were 2 people in front of me ordering and one that ordered after me. They all received their drinks before me, including the person behind me! (I ordered 2 drinks, so did they). I asked if my drinks were coming and was told they were coming soon. Next I watched white truck go past the entrance and then promptly show up at the drive-thru window. They received their drink before the crew even started mine! I asked if there was a manager at this point as the drive-thru was now cleared and I didn't have my drinks. This was when the person making drinks was identified as the manager. I asked her why I still did not have my drinks? She informed me mine were coming and that drive-thru takes priority! I responded to her that this makes sense to a point, but reminded her that someone ordered after me inside and her response was to not address this fact and simply advise she was now making my drinks. No apology.
I did report this to corporation was received a very short apology that did not taking ownership for what happened and only that they had given my loyalty account credit for the two drinks.
To close I prefer CBTL or Dutch Bros but would go to Black Rock because it was closer to work. I will now be going out of my way for a better...
