Came here Tuesday evening for the first time. The restaurant was busy; so I sat at the bar where there was available seating. Service is friendly. I started with the small Caesar salad ($8.99) and fountain drink ($3.49). Looking over their menu I saw one pizza that interested me. The Zagar pizza: red peppers, Italian sausage, and mushroom ($23.99). The pizza came out fast as I wasn’t finished with my salad. Which by the way was a good salad. Chopped Romain lettuce, cheese, the right amount of croutons, and dressing. As for the pizza, the crust was very good. After that, it was a unique experience as there was hardly any sauce. The cheese was okay. I didn’t taste any mushrooms, and had two bites where I could taste the sausage. What I had found peculiar is this taste; this crunchy chewing as if there were sliced almonds on the pizza. I discovered sliced garlic. Don’t get me wrong; I love garlic. There’s a right way to cook with garlic. This, however, wasn’t one of them, and I had one piece that was pretty large. I brought this to the attention of my server when I boxed the leftovers to go. She offered to have another pizza made, and I said that it’s alright. Maybe I missed something about the pizza, and had a different expectation of what I was looking to get. Next time I’ll ask more questions before getting another pizza. Again, the crust was very good. I wished to have tasted more sauce. The cheese and other toppings then matter. We’ll see the next time should I return. Other than that, the restaurant is clean. Ample parking. And a lively crowd of people. Total + tax = $39.61.

Are you kidding me? This place is an absolute joke. We arrived at 7:45. Closing time wasn't until 9. We were sat by a hostess holding dirty dishes who was extremely rude. 10 minutes waiting to be greeted. Another 5 just to get 2 waters. At arrival there was a total of maybe 25 people both inside & out. 20 minutes to get appetizers and another 30 to get entrees. We had to walk up to the bar to get our own silverware, didn't get refills until after dinner was finished after asking twice. I asked for tomato sauce but never got it. Our waitress (who never even gave us her name) then sat down talking to her friends/coworkers while eating pizza & laughing. While we were waiting on refills & boxes so we could get out as fast as possible, she glanced at us stuffing her face and again turned her back to us. Upon returning to our table with said sauce and desert she had not even washed her hands. I watched it go right from someone in the kitchen to her hands at her table to our table. I'm beyond appalled. I have been a server for 10 years and never in my life had such crappy service. The food was decent. Overall, the whole experience was mediocre at best and the fact that we spent $60 for two people there was insane. The hostesses put the chairs up around us and other patrons at 9:07. We waited for our to-go desert for almost another 15 and was ready to cancel it when she received it and brought it to us. I was a first timer and sadly a last timer. Definitely subpar service & very disappointed.

I have been to Florencia Pizza Bistro twice with one of my closest friends, who lives in the Ahwatukee area. Both times have been great experiences for both of us. The first time, I got a custom pizza with pepperoni, sausage, red peppers, black olives, and garlic. It was some of the best pizza I have ever had. Another thing I like about their topping is that they offer red bell peppers. When it comes to bell peppers, I prefer red bell peppers over green ones. When my friend and I were done with our pizzas, we had the cookie monster dessert, and it was delicious. I would gladly order it again next time I visit. On this most recent visit, I got the same pizza, except I replaced the black olives with mushrooms, and it was still an excellent pizza. Both times my friend and I have visited, the service has been friendly, with our servers being friendly and helpful, while explaining everything clearly and offering suggestions. I like the atmosphere as well. The lights are not too bright, and it makes for a nice, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your food. Florencia Pizza Bistro is the best pizza in Ahwatukee, in my opinion. If anyone is looking for a great pizza place in the Ahwatukee area, Florencia Pizza Bistro is an excellent choice.
