We placed our to go order on a weekend and had it ready to pick up within the stated 20-minute time frame. We ordered the House Egg Foo Young, Tri- Star Mongolian (not pictured), and the Cantonese Lo Mein. The foo young was decent and flavorful. It had 4 large patties and a good amount of gravy on the side. It could have been a bit crisper, but not bad. The lo mein was mediocre. The portion size was huge with a lot of meat, but it lacked flavor and seasoning. The Tri-Star was.... SWEET. The description on the menu didn't indicate that it would be sweet, just that it was a house brown sauce, so we thought we'd give it a try. Unfortunately, it was so sweet that we couldn't taste anything in the dish and ended up throwing the whole item out. The service was your run of the mill Chinese spot - hurry you in and out, not overly nice but not rude. Overall, we'd probably try this place again, maybe checking out other dishes.

Definitely the best take out in the area for the price. The restaurant has the typical dishes for a Chinese takeout and they are fresh and well made. The hot and sour soup is well balanced and flavorful, quite spicy but not too hot to eat. One of my favorite dishes here is the chicken with snow peas because it's lightly flavored and they give a good amount of vegetables. If you are ever in a hurry, Great Wok is the place to go because they are fast. Everytime we order by phone, the food is ready by the time we arrive about 10-15 minutes later. I believe the owner's wife runs the front of the restaurant and she is always friendly while being efficient. Meals are like homemade comfort food. We definitely will be back!

I am not giving it a five star for its food but merely for its value. Food is average and matches its prices on the menu. It offers honest food for an honest price. For this reason here is a five star to Great Wok! I wanted a mu-shu tofu and Ron wanted a lemon chicken. Even though a Tofu Mu-shu isn't on their menu they made it anyways and it was very good. Now the Hoisin sauce was diluted but my dish was just $10. I looked the other way. Service was prompt, dining room was super clean.

Counter/wait staff woman a liar today. Mixed up my order and when i got home and found out she had nerve to argue on the phone repeatedly that I was wrong and she was right. She agreed on the phone to reimburse me cost of meal AND make me proper meal I ordered. I confirmed it with her a total of 3 times on the phone and she assured me I would get both reimbursement for her mix up AND meal I wanted for the inconvenience of having to come back. When I got there I returned the wrong meal, I waited for new meal then she would not reimburse me. She argued with me more that I could only have one or other. I could not believe she could be such a liar and have such poor training as to tell me she didn't care if I posted negative reviews on line or didn't return as a customer. The chinese food in Ahwatukee is all bland and worthless and I regret I decided to give Great Wok one more try today. Why can't some place close by make chinese food that tastes like Chinese food...
