Flower Child — Restaurant in Phoenix

I've been to this location since they opened maybe once a month or so and their customer service and quality control on food has gotten progressively worse to the point I don't think I will give them another chance. Today I had to wait over twenty minutes for a to go order when they were slow. There were about 5 people dining in, I was the only person waiting for a to go order (which was one dish). I counted no less then 15 people on staff and I had to ask where my order was after waiting about 20 minutes. I was not given an explanation or apology for why it was taking so long, nor was I told when I ordered they were behind or anything to let me know this, I was just told "it would be out soon". When I finally got my order it was missing ingredients and not thoroughly cooked. It looked like they hastily threw it together it the 5 minutes after I asked where it was. I've had several instances of poor customer service and a huge variation in the quality of the same dish ordered here. There was a ton of people on staff including about 5 women up front who were mostly spending the entire time I was there chatting and socializing. The kitchen crew seemed to be busy and there was one person prepping on the floor who was busy. I own a business and it really angers me to see obvious poor work ethic and customer service especially from the cashiers who really have a very straight forward and simple job. Maybe 5 people were slotted to take take orders and put to go orders on the counter because they were working with the efficiency of 1 and a half. Can only give 4 stars. Don't get me wrong, they're very friendly, food is pretty good and it's a great environment especially if you want to bring your laptop to continue working while you eat! But I think it's the strangest thing that they bring your food but never any silverware. That's so odd to me. I mean how hard is it to implement that? I've only ever seen this type of self services at fast food joints. At every restaurant I eat at I'm not thinking about all secondary items, they bring you your food and ensure you have napkins and silverware. Here I get a cup and fill a drink and get to work while I wait for food. When I receive my food they're like oh you don't have a fork.... Yea ummm it's over there. I thought it was just a rude server the first time, then it happened again. I'm like ohhhh I get it, you have to actually get your own supplies, which was NOT obvious at all. I asked the server, and she said yes, they get that all the time. So, then I'm thinking, why hasn't the cashier ever said anything? Why, if so many others are confused, would they not just bring a set of silverware out with your food? Or hand you a set after you purchase food? Guys.. this is the best place in Phoenix. Period. There is an overwhelming emphasis on healthy all-natural food. You taste it in the bread, the dressings, the soy-based vegan meats and tofu substitutes — it reminded me of what real food actually tastes like. Just FYI; the place is not strictly vegan but has several vegan/vegetarian choices along with the ability to change anything on the menu for a vegan-friendly option..

I would be amiss here if I didn’t remark about the service. The people working here are absolutely impeccable. We asked for a box to-go to a busy waiter who wasn’t even serving our table, and he stopped what he was doing, brought us a box with a smile, helped us pack things, and even made sure we had plastic utensils for later. And he did it all with a genuine appreciation for our shared humanity that could only be achieved through a culture of the restaurant that promotes health, well-being, and free expression. This was true even of our waiter and the two women who greeted us in the front and helped take our order..
