My thank you to Julia for her help is far overdue. Believe me when I tell you that she lights every room she walks in and is very friendly and eager to talk about her field of expertise. I would like to emphasize that I did not know anything about jewelry walking into Schmitt Jewelers, however this was not a problem when we sat down to talk rings. Julia was there to answer all of my questions with patience and genuine insight. The store maintained a comfortable atmosphere and I was given an extensive education on everything I needed to know for making such an important decision. I was given many examples of the types of gold for the ring as well as the stones and setting styles. At each step Julia and her team ensured that I was being given every opportunity to craft the most beautiful ring possible. It felt like I was their most important client. I had started with a few small diamonds that had been in my family for generations which would be patched together like a quilt into our wedding ring. Just thinking about how the ring was going to be built, made my head spin. Again, Julia was there to assuage my nerves. After showing her a few pictures and styles, she said “Marcus, calm down we can easily do this.” It was reassuring to have her in my corner throughout the process. She then introduced me to the amazing team that would be building my ring. Schmitt Jewelers gave me a to-the-day time frame for when the ring was going to be finished and delivered. They made an amazingly accurate 3D model of the ring so that I would know what the finished product would look like and make any changes if needed. Truth be told, I don’t have a single suggestion for them; it was like magic. Two months later, I was made the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. One month after that, I got on my knee and proposed to the woman of my dreams. The caliber of professionalism and support displayed by Julia and her team should be considered of the highest standard and one to which all jewelers aspire to attain. I hardly ever write reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience and outcome with a custom engagement ring design here that I figured a detailed review was more than warranted in case anyone else is looking for a similar service.

I came to Schmitt Jewelers after buying a loose diamond from a 3rd party website as I'd seen online that Schmitt offered a custom jewelry design service and my girlfriend at the time (now fiancée!) had sent me a singular screenshot from a TikTok video saying she wanted her ring to look just like it but with some adjustments (different diamond length-to-width ratio, a little thicker band). I came to Schmitt Jewelers with this screenshot and basically asked if they could design a mount with the diamond I provided and have the outcome be as close as possible to the reference image (with the adjustments listed above accounted for) and they absolutely knocked it out of the park!

The staff I worked with were named Christie Tokarski and Michael Schmitt and I cannot thank them both enough. They were more than accommodating to all of my requests and were willing to listen to all of my feedback regarding the design drafts as we were going through the process. They were extremely kind and professional in their communications and very timely as well. It was all done at a more than fair price and I will certainly be returning when it comes time to design the wedding band!

I've included images of both the reference TikTok screenshot (the one with the lighter gold and painted nails) and my final engagement ring (the other image). I'm not the best photographer but hopefully the photo I've included does a good job of showing the identical curvature/prongs/tip as the ring from the TikTok screenshot. It looks soooo good in person and my fiancée has received countless compliments on it while wearing it out in public in the few days it's been since I proposed. Five stars isn’t nearly enough for this amazing place. My partner and I had been discussing getting a custom engagement ring since the beginning of May. We originally went to a different jeweler in a different town and were told it would take MONTHS to have the ring made. The ETA they gave us was late September or early October. They also made us feel that we couldn’t afford it and turned their noses at us. Not a very good experience. It was the complete opposite at Schmitt Jewelers!

From the moment we walked in, Schmitt Jewelers made us feel welcomed like part of their family. Crystal was especially helpful on going over design elements and shapes that I wanted for the center stone. When I didn’t see anything in the store that caught my eye, Crystal brought out a large catalog for me to look through which is how I was able to find the perfect setting for my ring!

Schmitt’s made sure they could make the ring with the setting I wanted using a pear shaped center rather than the traditional solitaire. They also let me choose which moissanite stone I wanted as the center piece when I decided I didn’t want diamond as they are a bit higher in price. I also had them add Tanzanite accent stones and they even incorporated a small diamond from my great great grandmothers wedding ring into MY ring. All of the customized elements made the ring that much better!

The entire team at Schmitt Jewelers made us feel confident in our design and sent us updates through the whole process. Rather than taking several MONTHS to do this custom piece, they finished the task in about 3 weeks. They were friendly and polite, as well as money conscious. We told them our budget was $6,000 and our final price for the customized 2ct ring was just under $5,000. I can promise you’ll never find a better place to work with!
