I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at this Oregano's. I called 4 days prior to ask about dining with a party of 9. This was to be a pre-wedding celebration as my fiancé and I would be getting married the next day. I was told only one member of the party would have to come put their name on the waitlist. When I called day of, I was told at least 6 members of the party had to be there. This inconvenienced our plans, but it was manageable. When we arrived we were told it would be an hour wait which was totally fine. However, we waited in total for over 2 hours. My party had all driven 7+ hours to get into Phoenix this day and we were all very hungry and tired. The hostess then informed us that we'd have to wait even longer because the tables they were going to push together were still occupied but once they opened, we would all be able to sit together. Once those parties were done eating, they sat someone else in that section instead giving it to us as promised. We had to wait even longer at this point and the only way they could accommodate us was at separate tables. My wedding party had to be split because the manager wouldn't just ask the people incorrectly sat at our table to move to a booth. My fiancé and I talked to the manager and he seemed extremely indifferent to our issues and insisted he would "take care of us." Once we finally ate (About 2 1/2 hours later) one of my party member's dish was completely wrong. Again, the manager was indifferent. We were never once checked on by the manager nor did he "take care of us." We we're not expecting a free meal, but an appetizer, dessert, or even just a little bit of compassion could have gone a long way. I left this restaurant in tears because their incompetence ruined my pre-wedding celebration. I will NEVER return and I always used to eat at Oregano's while in Phx. Never dine here with a large party and double check your food is exactly what the menu said it would be. I wish I could...
Read moreFood is good, but this restaurant is a disaster! Nearly every time we have ordered from them in the past year or so, they have gotten SOMETHING on our order wrong. The last time was last week. We ordered 2 entrees and 2 salads, using Door Dash. When the order arrived, they had given the driver the wrong order. The entrees weren't right, and the salads were missing. I immediately went on Door Dash's website and reported the error, thinking initially that the entrees were correct and they had just forgotten our salads. I received a partial credit from Door Dash. Then, when I looked closer and was preparing to eat our entrees, that's when I noticed the entrees were wrong, too. I then contacted the restaurant directly. They told me they had our order there and we could pick it up. I informed him that it was inconvenient for me to pick it up, which is why I used Door Dash, so he said Door Dash could come get it. I told him I didn't know how to have Door Dash come back and pick it up without creating a new order. He put me on hold for a while, I guess to contact Door Dash, and when he came back on I had decided that I would just come get it after all, despite the inconvenience. That's when he informed me that Door Dash told him the order was canceled. I said no, they only issued me a partial refund, and he said the order was canceled, and therefore, I couldn't come pick up the food. Mind you, Door Dash only refunded me approximately $37, when my total with the restaurant was almost $60 (it was over $70 with Door Dash fees and a tip). I'm DONE with...
Read moreIf this review was based on the food alone, it could be a 5* rating. The food was fresh, of good quality, and as always (which you can expect from any Oregano's) delicious. The problem is that there are many other factors when you eat out. We went as a small group of 5 for lunch and it took FOREVER to get our food. And when I say forever I'm saying 45min from the time we ordered 3 slices of pizza, 3 salads, and a sandwich... We were getting to the point of thinking of having to get it to go; to take back to the office. And then when the food finally DID did come, we had to eat quickly instead of taking our time to enjoy it... because we needed to get back to the office. We should have had plenty of time. Especially for a place that has lunch specials, and that is what everyone ordered. The place was not busy, either. I can't imagine what this place is like on a weekend, or during a dinner rush. They are either seriously understaffed, or just lazy and slow. The waitress came by a couple times and kept saying, it'll be just another minute... 45 minutes! Nobody apologized for the long wait, we did not get comped for any portion of our meal, they acted like it was normal to take that long. It was frustrating especially because I was the one who made the suggestion to go there. And then I felt responsible for the poor service at a restaurant that I chose. We definitely will not be going back here during lunch. And since this location is not near my house, I probably will never go back to this location again. I don't think you...
