This is my favorite Indian Restaurant in AZ.
Absolutely delicious food. We had the Aloo Gobi (my go-to Indian dish) and the Veggie wrap. The aloo gobi was less saucy than I’m used to, but it was NOT a downside. It was sooo good. The depth of flavor and the texture was perfect. And then the veggie wrap! I didn’t expect anything special at all, but it came wrapped in this beautiful piece of lightly charred naan and was overwhelmingly flavorful. It was gone before I could even determine what was in it. I thought I was maybe eating eggplant, but apparently the cook at Raj & Rani’s knows potato magic and can turn them into anything they want. Insane! I’m a fool for Samosas, but the veggie samosas here tasted special. More homemade than some other places I’ve been to maybe? Nice toasty, almost smoky crust and a really well balanced filling. The sauces were great, too! There’s a display case full of Mithai as well, and the colorful little pastries looked too good not to try. So glad I did! The guy at the front picked out an assortment for me and they were all so different to anything I’d eaten before. We had a lot of fun passing them around and trying all of these new sweets as a family. Thank you for taking the time to pick some out and tell me about them! I’ll be back every time I’m hungry...
Read moreI recently tried Raj and Rani's Indian Kitchen off of Tatum and Bell in North Phoenix. This place is absolutely unreal and deserves the prestigious recognition of the Phoenix New Times. I'd give 100stars if I could.
From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, I felt as if I was in my home away from home. The gentleman at the counter of this mom and pop shop was incredibly helpful and made me feel welcomed from the start. Indian cuisine is not something I am particularly used to but the chicken vindaloo that I had was one of the best things I have ever tried. Their chicken curry and the lamb korma are just as good and will leave you beyond satisfied. They have this garlic-chili naan bread that will easily make a grown man cry from joy.
The restaurant is impeccably well-kept and it truly does feel like your home away from home. From the kind kitchen staff waving behind the service window to the delicious other worldly smells coming from the kitchen and the welcoming gentleman up front, this place needs to be on every person's...
Read moreReading most of the reviews is all about perception and knowledge on how to differentiate what good quality, well prepared, and properly served food is about. This restaurant offers low quality ingredients in their preparation in exchange for high profit. Lamb Biryani was served on an oval platter it contained about two cups of fried rice, and to be exact, 5 small dice size of meat which were not visible to a naked eye because it was hidden underneath the rice, it's a clever practice of manipulation in deceiving a customer. Chicken Masala was undercooked it did not ask for white rice because I had about a cup from the lamb biryani left. Garlic bread, greasy. Based on my vast experience in Indian food, the Raj & Rani's Indian has been the poorest experience ever. Total bill $50.00 Note: Because you were born in India, it doesn't mean you know how to cook Indian food. My advice to reviewers and newcomers is to educate yourself on ethnic food...
