The Silver Pony used to be a local favorite spot of mine for dancing, karaoke, cheap drinks, pool and catching up with friends. Hadn't been there since before the pandemic so we planned a night to meet up with 16+ friends. We drove over an hour there on a Thursday night only to be turned away at the door because we use the LEGAL State app to show & verify our identity. Mind you, I'm 47 years old... CLEARLY I look over the age of 21. The "fresh-out-highschool" doorman had the nerve to point out a thigh high chalkboard near the door that was placed in a very dark area which makes it unreadable that apparently reads they'll only accept physical IDs or paper IDs. PAPER ID??? Really?? 𤣠𤣠Who carries a paper ID and how in the HECK is THAT legal?? The men chatting it up outside practically begged the doorman to let us in since A) We're Pinups B) We're Eye Candy and C) We're clearly of age but the immature doorman still refused. I looked and NOWHERE online did I read they don't accept the state legal app to verify ID. We then had to sit in our car and contact EVERYONE to find another place large enough for us all to meet up. Ugh! Absolutely Ridiculous đŻ After learning we drove over an hour to get there the doorman should've at least gotten advise from a manager/supervisor but he lacked any common courtesy to do so. The lot wasn't even packed so it's not like they were too busy to have helped out. So...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience. I came out of state to celebrate my mother in laws birthday- this was the place we were recommended to go to. There was a wait to get in, which is understandable- but once we got in we were met with the worst service I have ever seen. First we tried to order drinks, and the bartender (who is the manager, and needs to work on her attitude towards paying customers) was unreasonably upset because we were in her words âtaking too long to give the orderâ. She then proceeded to say we werenât allowed to order anymore and the rest of the people in our party were singled out and told âif you are a part of that group- you canât get anythingâ. After an hour, we were escorted out of the bar by a very disrespectful security guard, who not only put hands on another woman in our group but also spilled beer down her shirt. They also refused to look for one of our cards that was missing, and pretended to take a glance behind the bar to make it seem like they checked. I do not recommend this place- horrible service, terrible employees, and...
Read moreSmall dive country bar; it caters to regulars but I went with a group of 3 girls as Laveen is limited in options and surprisingly had a great time. It's cash only but the ATM fee is only $2 (they aren't trying to make money from that) with cheap drinks, a fun crowd and on Saturday they had a live band which I will say was actually very good-- played the hits, interacted with the crowd and gave it a fun atmosphere. The pool tables are a bit cramped (some shots will basically put your sick in someones back at one of the tables-- they should consider moving it) but for a small little dive bar, and all being 29-33 felt welcomed and un-threatened despite most patrons being quite older than us.
Definitely a fun spot if you just want a quick drink and to listen to live music or shoot a few rounds of pool....
