Subway — Restaurant in Phoenix

Why is it hard to follow directions. All one needs to do is read text and follow said text. When ordering online from this subway they give you the option to choose "extra" on the items, but they don't know how to fulfill it. All I wanted was extra lettuce, I realize that lettuce cost nearly nothing but leave it to Subway to feel the compete opposite.
