Have you ever gone to see a movie with high expectations and then we're pleasantly surprised when those expectations were met? This is better. Have you ever had a craving for something, eaten it, and were then quite satisfied? This will top that. The Rolling Stones would have gotten more than their satisfaction had they been rescued here. We sat outside, and although the mid-day drone of the cars was noticeable at first, with good conversation and a sip of beer, all was forgotten. We started with the meatballs and a plate of roast vegetables. The meatballs were served with some of the most delicious bread (made in-house) I have had in a long time. Perfect for holding the sauce while trying not to eat all the meatballs before my wife can get any! That's how good they are. It may remind you of the days trying to keep your favorite food away from a sibling. The roasted vegetables were wonderful. Made me feel good about eating something healthy too. Finally, the pizza. Why we're here. I've had pizza from NY to Chicago to Naples, Rome, and Milan, and everywhere in between, in wood-fired, coal-fired, cooked on the grill... The Mushroom Pizza (Funghi Formaggi) we had definitely rescued us from what we thought was good pizza before. Wow! It looked, well, my eyes were watering (tears of joy at seeing beautiful food) along with my mouth. It looked perfectly cooked with beautiful popped black bubbles on the crust. The smell of the mushrooms and cheese made me forget everything else. Time stopped around me as I slowly reached for a piece, held it up, took a bite, and closed my eyes. Oh wow! Oh my! It's perfect! The right bite from the crust, the perfect seasoning, delicious mushrooms, scrumptious cheese. After just one pie, I'd rank it in my top 3, ever! We'll go back again and I don't doubt that it may take over the #1 spot. We were in the area, but although we live in the west valley, I don't have any problem making the drive for food this delicious. Any stress from traffic will disappear with the first smells upon our return. If you love delicious food and perfect pizza, any drive will be worth it. And they support the puppy rescue located right behind the restaurant! *Note to prep staff: The ends of the asparagus should be trimmed as they are extra tough and inedible. Everything else was excellent.

Well, i have to give this experience i had today a 5 stars. Great atmosphere, very clean and comfortable. Service was great. Very friendly and chatted with multiple staff. This place has been on my radar for some time and i was in Arcadia today and saw it and pulled in. So glad i did. As soon as i walked in and saw the wood fired oven i knew i was in the right place. I always try a margarita when i try a new spot but i saw the cooler with the sausage they make in house and had to switch it up. Scratch kitchen and you could taste it! I ordered a margarita but added sausage and pepperoni to half. Pizza dough was cooked perfectly. Great flavor and a nice chew with the right amount of char and airiness. Too many places these days burn the bottom. I could taste the fresh mozzarella and the sauce was the right amount of savory and sweet. Sausage was great and the pepperoni were the cup n char which i love. The only thing i didn’t love was they use basil oil instead of fresh basil which is a necessity on a true margarita. I just got some on the side and added it myself. I would have given a 4 star review but added an extra star for what they do for the puppies! 25% of all proceeds go to the puppy rescue. I believe they have the puppies there certain nights to adopt!!!! I will absolutely be back!!!

I recently had the pleasure of checking out Pizza to the Rescue with a group of friends, and let me tell you—it was an experience I won’t soon forget. I’d heard the food was great, and that 20% of the proceeds go toward a local dog rescue, which is already a huge win. But what I didn’t expect was the added bonus of puppies right there in the restaurant, just waiting to be held, petted, and possibly even adopted. Seriously, who needs to worry about the wait for food when you’re holding a tiny ball of fluff? Now, onto the food—because, yes, it was good too. We kicked things off with a round of cocktails (because, why not?) and a shareable plate of meatballs that was so tasty I briefly considered asking for a second round. For the pizzas, we tried a few different options, including the classic Margherita and the Italian Stallion (no, it’s not a new dance move, but it sure packs a punch of flavor!). Everything was solid, and the service was decent. But, honestly, while the food was great, it was the puppies that stole the show. If you’re someone who enjoys delicious pizza and cuddling with adorable pups, Pizza to the Rescue is basically heaven on Earth. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to eat well, do good, and leave with a full belly—and possibly a new furry friend.

I never leave reviews but this place without a doubt had to be my first! I went with a group for a friends birthday and this place is just phenomenal. the owner and all staff are very friendly, personable and considerably accommodating. we were a group of deep, deep ranch on pizza lovers and it was close to their closing time so they were essentially out of prepared ranch for that day. we were one of two groups left, for context. they could tell we were bummed and back of house very kindly made a small batch specially for our table, even though (I assume) they were in the middle of breaking down and cleaning up the kitchen. we’ve been here twice and each time, the owner has come up to our table and had a bit of conversation. it’s a bit pricey but totally worth it. the cocktails are generously poured and unique. with that, I was nervous to order outside of my comfort zone and they were adamantly clear that if I didn’t like the drink, they could absolutely make another. you can tell everything on this menu meticulously curated. I highly recommend asking for a side of their hot honey- it’s made in house and adds a DELICIOUS touch of sweet to the salty. it’s not too spicy either. the pizzas…. not greasy, great combos, 9/10 sauce. it’s very flavorful, I do wish their was a taaad more on the dough but I forgot to ask for extra. the dough and the crust is rather thin, like NY style and has the perfect balance of soft but crispy. my friend has tried just about every authentic pizzeria in the valley and said this spot is easily top three, the ambiance is simultaneously light yet a bit “moody”/edgy. upscale casual with an emphasis on a small family owned feel (in terms of personability. they play great music on the sound system as well. we didn’t realize what time they closed initially and were the last customers to leave but they didn’t give the slightest hint of trying to shoo us out or impatience. we really...

We live nearby and have tried it twice, once take out and once dine in. The pizza itself is good, but there are a lot of wood fired pizza places in Phoenix that are comparable. The price is on the steep end, however, and we’ve found both times that they’ve been out of specific pizzas. We liked the mushroom pizza, although it’s heavy on the oil, but the marg was disappointing. The ‘appetizers’ (which aren’t called appetizers on the menu and it’s unclear what is designed to be shared and what isn’t) were the real miss. The roasted vegetables are $16 and for that you get a handful of still mostly raw carrots, some bell peppers that taste like what comes out of a jar, a few sprigs of tough broccolini, and some somehow crunchy and simultaneously soggy cabbage. The meatballs were similarly priced and you get six meatballs that, combined, could sit in the palm of your hand with a meager covering of sauce and two slices of bread about the length and width of your thumb. Frankly, charging $30 for some poorly cooked vegetables and a toddler sized meatball dish crosses into rip-off territory. I’d gone in with the intention to order a drink, but seeing how expensive the food was for such small portions completely ruled out a $15-20 cocktail. Our total for the dine in for two pizzas, two ‘appetizers’ and a small dessert was nearly $100 once tip was worked in. It was frustrating to then be asked if we wanted to donate on-top of the supposed 25% of our order that already goes to the puppy rescue. Listen, we all love puppies, but asking for more money from the customers that are already going there in large part for the feel-good of being fed and giving to a good cause is just taking advantage of people already supporting you by the very nature of their patronage. I think people are allowing that aspect to cloud their judgement a bit when reviewing this place. The service was fine, and I will say the exterior...
