âEmployee caused further significant damage to my manga set after purchase due to mishandlingâ
I usually hate to leave bad reviews, but after thinking more and more about my experience, the bad taste in my mouth becomes more and more rotten. Let me get to the point, I walked into this store one afternoon, to purchase a manga book set, a pretty pricey one with a good amount of books but it wasnât at full price because of some very minor damage. They were on the top shelf so i asked the employee to grab it down for me, and he offered me to check the books and i took the offer. I examined them, a few creases and scratches but otherwise, good condition. We then walked to the counter and I purchased them. He asked if i wanted a box and he said yes, but he didnât have one so he had to look for one, which was fine because sometimes things run out. He brings back a small box and proceeded to start shoving and pushing my books roughly inside, my manga barely fit inside. I thought he was a little rough but i just reminded myself they handle books all the time so I shouldnât worry. That was a mistake. When I got home, I cut the box open because i didnât want to damage my books pulling them out of the box. Finally, i sat looking at them and realized the employee significantly damaged them more, to the point of decreasing the value of them. Now with the few creases and scratches, there were more creases, scratches, he also caused ripping at the spines, he bent several book corners, and caused damage to the pages. Now Iâm stuck, having paid more for significant damaged books. I canât return them because they have a no return policy and i canât sell for them to another party because i wonât get what I paid for, all because the employee damaged my manga book set after purchase. After talking with friends who shopped there too, this isnât the first time they have damaged manga due to...
Read moreStore is huge. Has huge selection. There are other different vendors inside that sell as well. Like comics, star wars, and video games. They games were decent priced however they were selling some of the reproduction games from China. Stuff inside is pretty ugh more expensive than then you'd find on amazon or ebay. Getting help is a bit difficult too. I wanted a thing behind the glass. First two people we asked for help were trying to sort out the tons of mess every where and told us "they were on a deadline find someone else to help us" I think one of these guys might have actually owned the shop or was a manager of some sort as he was ordering someone else around too... not to help us but to help him. So we sought out our own help from else where. I probably would have spent a couple of grand here instead of the few hundred had they had any business sense. They were over charging for everything. I found one statue online for $200 less. I asked if they had the box one guy says yes. The other gives him a weird look says "we don't for that one" what ever that means. Then he says "it's priced lower because we don't have the box." I say it's not actually I can get it brand new never opened for $300 and you are charging $500 without a box. He says well we have to pay rent. I asked if I buy a bunch of stuff can we work some sort of a discount or lot price? Of course not. It's a swamp meet set up and quality (damaged) boxes for collectables all above retail prices. I did find a couple of things to buy. I wouldn't avoid the shop. Just be mindful of what your buying and research.
Advise for the shop... clean up a bit. Be a little more friendly. I always find stores that are too busy to make money do not last long. Just an opinion. Maybe the owner is super rich and doesn't need to sell...
Read moreThey will rip you off. I went to trade in a couple of Funko's including a shenron Funko. They offered $25 cash or $35 store credit. It was like 5 Funko's ... In their box , some special edition. I walked around looking and stuff and saw a wolverine I liked for $49. I told the guy , I know you offered me $35 but I think it's low, I would like to negotiate because in the store says "trade" really big and so I thought there was room for that. He said no! And then I pointed out there was the same shenron in their glass case right Infront of us selling for $60, so I told the guy, come on man the shenron I brought itself your selling for $60. Lol this is the part that bothered me the most. He went to grab it, take it out of the case and said, it doesn't cost that anymore, the most I can do is $40.00. I went ahead and picked a figure that costs $40.00, as I was browsing I heard him laughing about my case with another employee. I came back here because I once brought some other Funko's to trade and gave me a much better deal and the person who helped me was nice, I only took the real this time because I wanted to get rid of some stuff. The guy that talked to me about the Funko's had pink hair and had a nasty attitude, zero customer service, like he was making me a favor, it's called COLLECTORS MARKET, you are supposed to deal with this on a daily basis. I wouldn't recommend this spot to trade in your stuff, do ebay it will be a much better profit and you don't have to deal with people that look down on you. Remember, guy with pink hair! Terrible...
