If you grew up on the south side you know Tams WAS the spot. Was because the food was fresh and the food was amazing. I don’t know if the cook changed or what. But this is not the Chinese food I grew up loving. My most recent visit I am sorry to say will be my last. Multiple times leading up to this I have received old food and dirty old cooking grease tasting food. But worst of all was my last visit in which my food was burned, I called after I had gotten all the way home. They offered to refund or replace, only If I brought the rice back. I brought it back un ate and they took it back. Listen, THEY TOOK THAT RICE BACK FROM ME PLACING IT INSIDE THE WINDOW. We are in a pandemic if you have not noticed and taking food from any individual in a food establishment is against food handlers license regulations. This makes me questions the cleanliness, the smell surrounding this restaurant would need a separate review. Also there are no social distancing placements outside, so people stand much to close to you. The manager did not apologize but kept asking what happened after I told him. He refunded me after accidentally charging my credit card again. The customer service says “ We just want your money, if you can’t look over our attitudes go somewhere else” Smh, Will never return nor recommend this place. Two stars to acknowledge how Tams...
Read moreSo I gave a 5 stars rating, although I believe it’s more of a 4 stars because of the way they do business. Food is 5 stars all day. Delicious, NYC style, always fresh. I’m a big fan of their Jalapeño Wings with chicken fried rice! Hands down the best in the city. I drive 14-18 mins usually weekly to pickup.
Sketchy area. They call your number but have no speaker system m, so don’t listen to music while waiting for your food. No matter when you call and arrive for carry out, there is always a wait. I’ve been quoted 20 mins I’ll arrive after 30 still a 8-10 mins wait. For wings or regular food. The combo plates are good, huge portions, if you want to have a few different items on your plate. I say get the A18 8 pieces Jalapeño wings with chicken fried rice. My girl loves the pork fried rice with the jalapeño wings, it’s good, it’s what I ordered the very first time. They’re open usually until 9p, later in the week I believe until 9:30. Be sure to be there by close if you called in, they will not wait long for you past closing. Best Chinese food in Phx, consistent, quick, and tastes the way it should!!! 5 star food, 3 star service...
Read morePicked up two lunch specials today and an order of crab puffs m. The crab puffs were completely undercooked practically raw, the lo mein tasted like it was just drenched in oil and the rice on both of this entrées had a distinct burnt taste so much so it even smelled burnt. I called to let them know and all he said is can you bring the food back and I told him that was not an option because the person I ordered with took theirs home and I took mine home to eat at a later time and he said that was the best he could do and since no one else called to complain, it was basically oh well too bad so sad. Their prices continue to go up and they even charge extra to use a credit card or debit card, they will not even give adequate amounts of soy or hot mustard - one has to practically beg for it and now their food is getting to be subpar. I will be looking elsewhere for my Chinese food fix. They are overpriced and horrible customer service and no longer take pride in their product. Not a good combination anyway you cut it....
