My son and I had a Pinball tournament at Crazy Martins at 1pm today. I asked the owner if he knew of any good places to eat before the tourney was to begin. He said the Light House was a great place to eat if you haven't been. So we went, and boy what a pleasant surprise this diner was. AS we entered we were told there are some seats in the back, find yourself a seat and someone will be with you soon. It truly felt like I had walked into my grandma's kitchen and the vibes this place gave off got me in all my feels. Deanna was our server, and upon letting her know this was our first time being here she suggested a couple items form the menu with such passion and enthusiasm that I wanted to try them all. But alas I was not able to do just that, so my son and I ordered the Cheese Steak Philly, my sons with no green onions. What came out shortly after was heaven in a bun. I didn't know what expectations to expect from such a place but Deanna was on the money for this suggestion. The cheese alone had so much flavor that I think I could have eaten the Steak and cheese by itself and that would have been amazing! My son and I left very full and with a smile on our faces from the service we had at this pleasant little diner. I can truly say one of the biggest highlights of my day was being suggested to go try the Light House in Piqua. I truly can't wait to return to try more of the menu. Thank you Deanna for making our afternoon...
Read moreCame in on Father's Day, it was busy when we got there but once we sat down it cleared out and there were plenty of open tables. Waitress wasn't the most friendly and disappeared for about 45 minutes after we ordered. The man with the beard who sat us was nice. We ordered our food (breakfast items) and we waited AN HOUR to get our food. Mind you, it was only me and my husband, 2 PEOPLE! Other tables around us who came in after us got their food first. I told my husband we will wait 5 more minutes then we are leaving, and about the 4 minute mark our food finally came out. The food was sub par at best. Asked for crispy home fries and they were barely golden brown, mostly just white potato. Wanted to try a new place, something local, but unfortunately waiting an hour for breakfast food is ridiculous....
Read moreI have physically eaten at the Lighthouse Cafe 2 or 3 times with my sister. I always get the delicious French toast & my sister gets a BLT. I must say that your Restaurant comes closer than anyone to making French toast like my dearly departed mom. My sister has also picked it up & brought over to my place so we could enjoy on my patio. Always get it with a side of the delicious crispy bacon. I'm sure everything must be good but I probably won't find out because I'm sticking to my usual order, French toast with side of crispy bacon please! Thank you! Wonderful breakfast, great affordable prices. Everybody come down & have some good cooking at the Lighthouse...
