One of the underrated stars of the Rutgers food scene. From exciting, spicy dishes such as the one in the image below, to a relaxing bowl of noodle soup, this is what I want to eat in college. As a Chinese American, this restaurant serves the most authentic and closely traditional Chinese food to anywhere I have been on campus. I will admit, not every meal is always up to par with my standards, however they have certain gems such as their three pepper chicken, or drunken chicken and mala hot pot for 2 which leads me to continue to bring my friends to this place. And each of them have fallen in love with it as well. You can trust me on my selections, as I have eaten more than half of their menu at this point. Additionally, the chefs are very flexible to your needs and tastes. For example, kimchi fried rice is not on their menu, but whenever I ask the chef to make it for me he always has. This restaurant knows how to value committed customers and their rewards program encourages you to come more. Don’t be afraid to move beyond their lunch special wok service and ask them to cook you a fresh, hot meal. It is surprisingly delicious, but predictively addicting. Also, if you are looking for good vegetable options, this is the place to be. Give Hoja Fusion a try, and see how it...
Read moreWalking into the restaurant, the rich aroma of spices and citrus was immediately tantalizing. I ordered the orange chicken, a dish I had heard was a crowd favorite, and it did not disappoint. Each bite was a perfect symphony of flavors – the chicken was crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy within. The sauce was a masterful blend of sweet and tangy, with a hint of garlic and ginger that danced on the palate. The vibrant orange zest shone through, offering a fresh and zesty contrast that elevated the dish beyond the ordinary. It was served piping hot, with the steam carrying the enticing scents that promised and delivered satisfaction. The portion was generous, draped over a bed of fluffy white rice which absorbed the sauce beautifully. This orange chicken was not just a meal; it was a culinary experience that left me eagerly anticipating...
Read moreUsually I'm not picky for fast food, but this Hoja is literally the WORST one I've ever had in the US. Trust me, you can make better food with your own microwave oven.
I ordered Curry Chicken Rice, and after 10 mins waiting, I got a COLD DISH! The cashier said the cook heated it. It felt hot from the bottom, but it's cold inside and on top of it. Obviously the cook just microwaved it. Then the cashier said they will make a 'New One' for me.
After another ten minutes waiting, I got a 'New One'. I didn't look at it because I was late for class. When I got home, I opened my dish, you can see it very clear that the chicken on the side was very dry, obviously the cook just microwaved it again. I'm so disappointed. BTW, the chicken is not very fresh, you can taste that.
Again as I said, you can make better food with your own...
