Peraltas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Pittsburg

I have eaten here two times within the last year. Both times were okay. I may come across a bit critical but mexican food is my favorite. I've eaten a lot of different styles from across the US as well as in Mexico.

For me Peralta's is right in the middle. It is a cross between Tex-Mex and American style Mexican food. Meaning: The food is a bit bland for those that don't do spicy or strong flavors, but also the right amount of flavor that you can add a little salt and salsa to kick it up a notch.

Pros: •Salsa has good flavor, heat and consistency *more on the medium-hot side than mild •The queso sauce is on point •Food is quick to be served.

Cons: •Chips are either pre packaged or prepared too far in advance. *Too many crumbled pieces •Servers are more like order takers. They are nice and prompt but nothing above or beyond.

Recommendation for Servers: ( I'm just trying to help your tips $$$) Smile, If the person you are waiting on has dined before, welcome them back. If you've never seen them, welcome them to Peralta's introduce yourself and give a recommendation. Could be your favorite dish or any specials. Well I will start by saying, Go Somewhere Else. I never give a bad review but this place was a total waste of money. From the tomato puree for salsa to the poor service. We ordered 3 different meals and you can just look at the pictures, most people would have sent it back immediately. We have it a try. The carne guisada burrito was just a few pieces of what seemed to be microwaved meat squares with absolutely no seasoning or gravy of any kind rolled in a cheap flour tortilla ( you can tell it's cheap by the texture and taste) then covered by what seemed to be Rico brand cheese sauce watered down and poured over the top. The rice was bland and seems to be minute rice. The chimichangas were prepared the same way, store bought chicken strips and cheese then topped with the same cheap sauce. I went here the other day and the waiter checked on us for our order and brought us our food. He never came back. I needed ketchup, had to get up and walk around the restaurant to find it myself. The waiter was out on the porch the whole time. There was no one at the register. There was literally no one in the restaurant but me and my guest (No other customers and no employees).
